Introduction: Sex and education level has demonstrated effects on health status.Osteoarthritis is a widespread disease that causes reduced health-related quality of life and isthe most common reason for total hip replacement. Osteoarthritis was ranked as the 11thhighest contributor to global disability as reported in the Global Burden of Disease 2010.Aim: The aim of this study was to explore how sex and education level together affectedhealth-related quality of life after total hip replacement. The aim was also to examine whatdimensions of EQ-5D that changed.Methods: The study is a prospective observational study with a quantitative approach. Dataconsisted of education level, obtained from Statistics Sweden (SCB) and health-relatedquality of life before and one year after total hip replacement from the Swedish HipArthroplasty Register (SHAR). Health-related quality of life was measured with astandardised instrument, the EQ-5D, and the study population consisted of 39,141 patients.Results: Womens? EQ-5D-value, before and one year after surgery, were lower in alleducational categories compared with men.

Fast pyrolysis is a method for converting biomass into three energy rich products: char, gas and bio-oil, where the latter is most interesting.  Pyrolysis is an endothermic process where biomass is heated in an anaerobic environment and, with the right operating conditions, up to 80 %wt bio-oil can be extracted. Key parameters for fast pyrolysis are: stable reactor temperature (~500°C), short residue time for gas in the reactor (<2 s) and a very high heating rate for the biomass. Today there are several different process solutions for fast pyrolysis, where fluidized beds and rotating cones are most developed. Bio-oil has compared to fossil oil: lower heating value, low pH and also polymerizes with time. Because of this upgrading is desirable for increasing competitiveness.

Background: Because of the high unhealthy rates among women in the com-mune a project to reduce it have begun. For this reason we have been given the mission from the commune of Sotenäs to study the character of these women's health. Objective: To study the health among permanent employed women in the commune of Sotenäs. Method: Quantitative method. The data have been collected through question-naire survey.

The main purpose of this study was to investigate in what manner librarians and pedagogues can cooperate in order to help students with reading and writing problems and consequently enhance their information literacy. I aimed to investigate why cooperation between these professions is necessary. Also, I wanted to find out how the general support is on the schools regarding students with reading and writing difficulties, and if the school librarian knows what the special educator can contribute with and vice versa. Lastly, I focused on what knowledge the performers of these professions have about reading and writing difficulties and to what degree their knowledge is based on scientifically proven methods.The two theoretical points of departure are 1) theory of cooperation built upon Louise Limberg?s and Lena Folkesson?s three categories of cooperation 2) and Aidan Chambers?s reading promoting model named the circle of reading.

Syfte: Syftet med denna tvärsnittsstudie var att undersöka hur prostatacancer patienter och deras partner skattar sina eventuella nivåer av ångest och depression samt att undersöka om skattningen mellan dessa två grupper skiljer sig åt. Syftet är även att kvalitetssäkra frågeformuläret Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) enligt ?Question-and-Answer?-modellen.Metod: Kvantitativ tvärsnittsstudie med deskriptiv- och jämförande metod användes. Studien innefattade sex patienter samt sex partners, sammanlagt 12 personer. Datainsamlingen skedde med hjälp av enkäter.Resultat: Både patienterna och deras partners skattar relativt låga nivåer av ångest och depression.

Local cultural environment planning in Sweden often comes to rely on municipal heritage plans. These plans are meant to facilitate management of local cultural values, work as a tool for local planning and increase awareness of cultural environments for the public. In the last decades public participation in planning has become more and more of the ideal strategy, challenging the idea of cultural environment planning as an expert-led field. The idea of the field as one that implicates public participation as a strategy has been fortified in Sweden through national goals, government bills and conventions. Nevertheless the implementation of public participation in municipal heritage plans remains quite uncharted. The aim of this study is to explore public participation in regards to how municipal heritage plans are developed and the perception of public participation in cultural environment planning amongst professionals, comparing bigger and smaller municipalities.

This study investigates how social interaction affects newly arrived pupils? views on their study situation in the Swedish educational system. The aim is to give a contribution to the discussion on the notion of including ?the Other? in educational practice in multicultural schools. Semi-structured group interviews were conducted to explore how the intercultural perspective and the theory of inclusion can be used to explain the dynamics of social interaction.

Problematiken för vår undersökning grundar sig i den nya skollagen som trädde i kraft i juli 2011. Där står det reglerat att kommunen är ansvarig för alla elever i en kommun. Då det nu råder fritt skolval enligt den nya skollagen, kan elever och dess vårdnadshavare själva välja vilken grundskola de vill gå på. Eleverna kan antingen välja en kommunal grundskola eller en friskola och därmed blir planeringen och budgeteringen av elevantalet osäker för kommunerna då de inte vet hur många elever som kommer att gå i de olika skolorna.Vårt syfte med denna undersökning är att skapa förståelse för och en fördjupad kunskap om hur skolförvaltningen inom kommunen går tillväga för att planera och budgetera osäkerhet och om budgetarbetet har påverkats av det fria skolvalet och friskolorna. Undersökningen baseras på en kvalitativ metod med tre intervjuer av ekonomer på skolförvaltningen i tre kommuner; Helsingborgs stad, Lunds kommun och Kristianstads kommun.Utifrån det empiriska materialet har det framkommit att ledorden i budgetarbetet är; planering, kommunikation och kontroll.

SammanfattningSyfte och frågeställningarSyftet med studien var att undersöka perfektionism och prestationsångest relaterat till varandra samt till ålder och erfarenhet hos kvinnliga elitfotbollsspelare.Hur samvarierar ålder och antal år på elitnivå med typen av perfektionism och graden av prestationsångest?Hur vanligt förekommande är adaptiv och maladaptiv perfektionism samt prestationsångest hos kvinnliga elitfotbollsspelare?Samvarierar typen av perfektionism med graden av prestationsångest?MetodI studien medverkade 93 spelare från tre lag i Damallsvenskan, ett lag i Elitettan och åtta lag i Naisten Liiga.  En webbaserad enkät som innefattar egenkonstruerade bakgrundsfrågor samt två mätinstrument: Sports Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale-2 och Sports Competition Anxiety Test användes. Data analyserades med hjälp av Chi²-test samt Spearmans korrelationstest.ResultatÅlder och antal år på elitnivå visade inga signifikanta samband med perfektionism eller med prestationsångest. Det visade sig att 18 % av spelarna inte kunde definieras som perfektionister och att 82 % av spelarna kunde definieras som perfektionister. Av de spelare som kunde definieras som perfektionister, hade 81 % adaptiv perfektionism.

BackgroundWhen women have breast pain this usually is not associated with myocardial infarction, which results in that they get less attention and wrong treatment. The nurse has an important role in informing and educating patients and families during hospitalization, which is usually short. Continuous training, written information and repetition for patient and family throughout the hospital stay are of considerable importance to clarify that the patient understands and to reduce the anxiety of being discharged.AimThe aim is to describe nurses' experiences of caring for older women with myocardial infarction.MethodsA qualitative method was used. The collection of data was done by six interviews with nurses in geriatric care and elderly care. Dataset has been processed based on a content analysis and divided into subcategories and main categories using meaningful units.ResultsNot having knowledge of older women with myocardial infarction was expressed as frustrating and nurses described how they were afraid to ask their colleagues.

The government´s intensions were to give the individuals more influence in their housing, to increase the variety of accommodation and thereby create a freedom of choice when selecting their housing. They also saw opportunities to reduce segregation and increase the total production of houses and or apartments with this new type of ownership. The introduction was supposed to give the building companies a possibility to build with a new type of ownership and thereby create new and an increased number of projects for the future. This new accommodation form has however not gained the penetrating power that was expected.

Bakgrund: Fysisk aktivitet har i studier kopplats till lindring av psykiska symtom som depression, oro, ångest samt en ökning av självupplevd livskvalitet. Vid insjuknande i psykossjukdom är det vanligt att drabbas av just ångest och depression. Dessa symtom i kombination med biverkningar från läkemedel ökar risken för en mindre hälsosam livsstil och fysisk inaktivitet, vilket kan leda till en ond cirkel och allt sämre fysisk och psykisk hälsa.Syfte: Syftet med föreliggande studie var att undersöka om det finns några skillnader mellan fysiskt hög- och lågaktiva personer med psykossjukdom avseende livskvalitet samt förekomst av depression och ångest. Syftet med studien var även att undersöka hur deltagarnas motionsvanor ser ut när det befinner sig på en sluten psykiatrisk vårdavdelning.Metod: Föreliggande studie är en kvantitativ tvärsnittsstudie. En enkät bestående av demografiska frågor, två skalor om fysisk aktivitet, en fråga om motionsform, en ångest- och depressionsskala samt en skala om livskvalitet, delades ut.

This report is the result of a degree project in building engineering, at an advanced level. The project evaluated a building from a technical and historical point of view, and focused on its energy consumption, particularly the energy used for heating. The building in question was a small apartment building in Strömsholm, Sweden. It was made in 1902, from vertical logs, a not so common form of the traditional log house. The goal of the project was to evaluate if the energy consumption could be reduced in accordance with building preservation regulations, that is without damaging any of the building?s cultural or historical values.The building was surveyed with the help of archive and literature studies, interviews and inspections.

Despite this, international students in Sweden have received little previous attention in the literature. The current study focused on international master students? experiences of job searching in Sweden and challenges they face in job searching, recruitment, and workplaces.
