The aim of the study was to examine which approach future social workers have regarding specific competence in the meeting with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer clients. Previous research shows that LGBTQ people have a low confidence towards social services, police and courts and say they face discrimination and degrading treatment to a greater extent than the heterosexual population. Research shows that education and better skills of LGBTQ culture among professionals can change the situation.The essay is based on a model of cultural competence in working with sexual minorities and people with a transgender expression. The model defines the meaning of an LGBTQ perspective and is designed to improve social work with LGBTQ clients.The study is quantitative and empirical data consists of 203 survey responses from students with a long experience of the social work education. The analysis of the results is based on the cultural competence three principles; attitudes, knowledge and skills.

The United States is one of few Western nations that administers capital punishment to their condemned criminals. Texas has executed the most inmates of any state in the U.S. This prompted questions about the psychological characteristics of death row inmates. The purpose of this essay is to widen the perspective on inmates serving capital sentences by analyzing their final statements. The focus of this essay was centered on acute anxiety of death among inmates, visible in their final statements, as a result of an accelerated process of dying.

Bakgrund: Utifrån erfarenheter och teoretisk kunskap har sjuksköterskestudenter uppmärksammat hur stereotyper kring kön finns starkt närvarande i sjukvården. Vården är dominerad av kvinnor men styrs av maktstrukturer utifrån patriarkala hierarkier. Problem: Kan förutfattade meningar om vad som är manligt och kvinnligt bli ett hinder för personcentrerad vård? Förminskas patienten från att vara en individ till att bli en generalisering utifrån genusnormer? Kan sjukvården bortse från fördomsfulla vårdkulturer gällande könsstereotyper i mötet med patienten? Syfte: Att beskriva hur sjuksköterskor upplever att genus påverkar den personcentrerade vården. Metod: Examensarbetet är en empirisk intervjustudie som använder en kvalitativ manifest innehållsanalys av obearbetat material.

Bakgrund: Förutom de diagnostiska fördelarna med jodkontrastmedel finns det samtidigt risker. Nedsatt njurfunktion, diabetes och hjärtsvikt är några av de riskfaktorer som kan leda till att patienten drabbas av en kontrastmedelsinducerad njurskada. Allergi och astma utgör riskfaktorer för en akut överkänslighetsreaktion. Tyreoideafunktion, graviditet och läkemedel är andra faktorer som är viktigt att ta reda på för att undvika negativa effekter av jodkontrastmedel. I Sverige finns nationella rekommendationer samt utarbetade frågeformulär som ska förebygga de negativa effekterna.

För att kunna se möjliga för- och nackdelar görs en redogörelse av hur rätten ser ut vad gäller positiv särbehandling i dagsläget. Med hjälp av intersektionalitet belyses skärningspunkterna och sambanden mellan olika kategorier i form av kön, klass, sexualitet mm. The right to freedom of conscience is protected by international conventions and declarations of human rights that have been ratified by Sweden. Nationally, the issue of health professionals? right to freedom of conscience in the abortion care is not resolved by public inquiry. This has led to that Sweden has been notified to the European Committee of Social Rights on the grounds that the country is considered to be violating the Council of  Europe Resolution 1763 and that the proper question to be determined by regulations of the interests that are balanced, based on their legal value in relation to each other. Freedoms, rights and obligations conflict with each other.

This subject of interest in this paper is the ideas expressed and formulated in the making andinauguration of the Branting-monument at Norra Bantorget in Stockholm. The initiative for a monument honoring the late Social Democratic leader Hjalmar Brantingwas taken at the Swedish Social Democratic Party Congress in 1928. An effective market competition benefits consumers by lowering prices, raising the quality and expands the range of goods and services.The purpose of the paper is to investigate if the collecting societies licensing violates competition laws. On the basis of the investigation regarding the bill for a new Swedish copyright law (URL), mainly the new wording that regulates the license agreement, corresponds to the EU competition rules and customs within the area.The collecting societies licensing violates the competition laws in the following cases? Discrimination of members because of nationality?           Authors transferring their sole rights to global exploitation?           The collecting society have the right to manage the rights after the author have left as a member?           Users that are established abroad do not get access to the repertoire of  the collecting societies, the same goes for concerted practice if this is the purpose or result?           Parallel behaviours that cannot be explained objectively?           Dividing the market?           Fixed Prices?           Refusal to sign multi-territorial licenses?           Apply different conditions for equivalent transactions resulting in competition disadvantages for a company that cannot be justified by reasonable causesCurrently there are no indications that the new bill to a new URL violates EU law. The castration of piglets is performed routinely all around the world. Most castrations are done without anaesthesia and analgesia, despite the fact that this procedure has been proved to induce acute pain and stress for the piglets. The procedure regarding castration of piglets is currently a hot topic of debate and an important political issue. The underlying issue is the boar taint which are highlighted in the heating of the meat after slaughter, which in turn can lead to reduced meat sales as it can be perceived as unpleasant for many consumers. The purpose of this study is to examine alternative drugs which may be selected in order to replace the practice of castration of piglets without anaesthesia, in light of improved animal welfare.

Kvarstående endometrit efter betäckning eller insemination, "perstistant mating-induced endometritis" (PMIE) har länge orsakat problem med fertiliteten hos ston och anses i vissa fall vara den största anledningen till infertilitet. Ett av de tydligaste tecknen på att ett sto drabbats av PMIE är att det finns ?2cm vätska i livmodern 6-24 timmar efter betäckning/insemination. Det inte har funnits några standardiserade behandlingsprotokoll för PMIE men nya studier har visat en markant ökning i dräktighetsfrekvensen när ston som identifierats som predisponerade för PMIE har behandlats med glukokortikoider innan betäckning/insemination. När ston med antingen tidigare oförklarad infertilitet eller tidigare symtom på PMIE behandlats med prednisolon innan insemination har dräktighetsprocenten ökat från 3% till 65% dräktighet samt från 0% till 64,5% dräktighet.

Despite Sweden's ranking as one of the least corrupt countries in the world, recent studies suggest that the prevalence of corruption in the private sector is growing, now approaching international levels. Over the past couple of years, Sweden has witnessed a growing number of scandals involving unethical behavior on the part of its corporate sector. Corruption has gained the attention of authorities, legislators and the public - putting the private sector under pressure to take action to prevent such corporate misconduct. As a result, companies increasingly prioritize strategies and policies aiming to prevent corruption. This study aims to contribute to the understanding of the role of leadership in such preventive work.

Osteoartrit är en vanligt förkommande degenerativ ledsjukdom hos våra hundar som orsakar smärta, stelhet och minskad rörlighet hos drabbade individer. Ledbrosket bryts ned och detta följs av en inflammatorisk process som ytterligare driver på utvecklingen. De bakomliggande orsakerna varierar men kan t ex vara felställning av ben som ger onormalt slitage eller övervikt som ökar den mekaniska påfrestningen på brosket vilket initierar nedbrytningsprocessen. De genetiska förutsättningarna har stor betydelse för sjukdomsutvecklingen. Sjukdomen är kronisk och progressiv.

Enligt skollagens första kapitel § 2 är varje skola skyldig att ha någon form av åtgärdsprogram mot mobbning. I den nya läroplanen, Lpo -94, anges att det är rektor som bär det särskilda ansvaret för att skolan verkligen utformar ett sådant åtgärdsprogram.Vi valde därför att inleda det här arbetet med att undersöka om skolorna i Gävle kommun, med inriktning på årskurs 1-6, var laglydiga eller inte. Med andra ord, hade de någon form av åtgärdsprogram mot mobbning eller inte?I och med Lpo -94, framhålls också skolans ansvar tydligt, när det gäller att ingripa mot alla slags trakasserier eller kränkande behandling. Vi är alltså som lärare, tillsammans med övrig skolpersonal, skyldiga att ingripa om vi misstänker ett fall av mobbning.
