The purpose with the paper is to theoretically investigate how sensory experience and positive affect in contact with outdoor environment can promote health by 1) develop a model of the sensory and emotional processes based on multiple code theory (Bucci, 1997) and 2) examine if this model can increase understanding of the processes that takes place in outdoor recreation, the way this is described in environmental psychology research and theory. The paper starts by introducing research and perspectives concerning outdoor recreation. Different theories of nature?s health promoting effects are described. These include the restoration theories of Roger Ulrich and Steven and Rachel Kaplan, theories more concerned with outdoor activities and a theory combining these two perspectives called instorative theory. After this sensory and emotional information processing is examined through the works of Wilma Bucci and Jean Ayres. Antionio Damasio?s theories of emotion and Daniel Stern?s concept of vitalityaffects are than introduced to extend this reasoning.

The aims of the present study were to implement and evaluate a three-session Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) stress management intervention in a non-clinical group of university students (N = 25) and to investigate the importance of practice in an ACT-intervention. A design with pre-test and double post-test was chosen. A comparison was made between a nine-hour ACT-intervention containing practice for the participants, a two-hour lecture on ACT and stress management containing no practice for the participants and a control group. Psychological flexibility was assessed with Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-2 and mindfulness was measured with Kentucky Inventory of Mindfulness Skills. Perceived stress level was measured with Perceived Stress Scale.

The background of this study stemmed from the notion that the majority of homeless women with substance abuse, most of all, wanted a secured place of their own to stay. Few involved professionals agreed and instead of perceiving housing as a human right the women were mostly offered various types of short-term social housing. The purpose of this study was thus to examine and analyze how professionals attached to the social services and public housing companies in Gothenburg explained that homeless women with substance abuse were excluded from accommodation on the open housing market. The qualitative approach included ten interviews with eleven professionals in Gothenburg. The theoretical framework consisted mainly of Bourdieu's analytical concepts of field, doxa as well as social, economic and cultural, alongside symbolic capital.

Bakgrund: Cirka 2/3 av alla preanalytiska fel uppkommer i den preanalytiska fasen, där blandning av provrör direkt efter provtagningen är en av faktorerna. Studiens syfte var att jämföra analysresultaten för glukos, laktatdehydrogenas samt kalium i serum från blandade rör med oblandade rör. Studiens syfte var även att undersöka hållbarheten på dessa tre analyter i rumstemperatur (25 °C) under sju dagar.Metod: 100 blandade och 100 oblandade serumrör med gel, från 100 patienter, analyserades på Architect ci2800. Analysresultaten jämfördes statistiskt med parat t-test. Alla serumrör förvarades i rumstemperatur under sju dagar och de tre analyterna analyserades dagligen.

This paper investigates the ongoing talks between the Swedish libraryassociation (Svensk Biblioteksförening) and the Swedish Publishers?Association (Svenska Förläggareföreningen) regarding a new payment modelfor e-book loans in Swedish public libraries. The current model allows an ebookto be lent an infinite number of times and for each loan the library paystwenty Swedish kronor to the supplier, Elib, which in turn passes half of thatsum on to the publicers.The reason for the talks is that both libraries and publishers have reason to bedispleased with the current model. For the libraries it has proven to be aneconomic challenge, for the already strained library economies, sincepayment is made directly by the individual library from the media budget.The publishers also have reasons to want a change of model since thecompensation they receive from the libraries is not enough for them tocontinue publishing e-books and making a profit. They argue that to protectthe commercial e-book market the principle of free loans has to be replacedby a model that introduces ?friction? in the form of limitations on how manytimes a title can be loaned.This study is based on interviews with representatives from both sidesinvolved in the talks, along with a representative from Elib and a librarian.An analytical tool has been constructed by the author to aid in the process ofuncovering arguments and standpoints in the interviews.

This report deals with activities that from a CSR perspective are considered to create a shared value for a medium-sized construction company in Sweden. The CSR definition used in the report is the European Commission?s since it reflects the valuecreating aspects of CSR, in contrast to the traditional philanthropic aspect of CSR.Companies in the building construction industry have difficulties identifying activities that create value in society and in the company. The aim with the project is to, from a CSR perspective, identify and evaluate value creating activities in a building construction company. The activities will be evaluated with respect to competitiveness and how they can be implemented into an organization.

Facebook är ett internetbaserat socialt nätverk och tillika en mötesplats för nästan en miljard människor världen över. Nyligen introducerades företaget på den amerikanska Nasdaq-börsen och det skulle komma att bli en av de högst värderade börsnoteringarna någonsin. Förväntningarna på Facebook är enorma, men samtidigt hörs kritiska röster om hur aktieägarnas förväntningar på ekonomisk avkastning kommer tillfredsställas på bekostnad av användarnas integritet detta skulle i förlängningen skapa missnöje. Det är onekligen en imponerande framgångssaga men i takt med ökande närvaro på internet i allmänhet och Facebook i synnerhet framstår det också som ett socialt fenomen värt att studera. Det är en plats där miljontals människor interagerar dagligen, men man kan fråga sig vari lockelsen ligger med Facebook och vilka biverkningar som tillkommer.

Syftet med föreliggande studie är att utforska vad några sångelever på estetiskt program på gymnasiet anser motiverar dem under sånglektionerna. Metoden som använts är kvalitativa, halvstrukturerade intervjuer. Fyra gymnasieelever vid det estetiska programmet har intervjuats om deras motivation relaterat till de sånglektioner de får på respektive skola. Det teoretiska perspektivet som studien baseras på är ett motivationspsykologiskt perspektiv. I resultatet presenteras temat Att känna sig ?bra? som summerar informanternas berättelser om den ökade motivation de upplever då de känner sig bra på att sjunga.

I en empirisk studie gjordes fyra djupintervjuer angående den psykosociala arbetsmiljön hos kvinnliga undersköterskor och pedagoger. Studien genomfördes på två olika arbetsplatser inom samma organisation. Undersökningen gjordes med syftet att söka en ökad förståelse för medarbetarnas egenupplevda psykosociala arbetsmiljö, och även försöka utröna vilka faktorer som anses påverka och vara viktiga för densamma. En intervjuguide utarbetades, vars intention var att utreda vilka faktorer som informanterna anser särskilt viktig i frågan. Grundstenarna för undersökningen är psykosocial arbetsmiljö och gruppsykologi och i förlängningen även folkhälsa.

Undersökningen handlade om stress, coping och utbrändhet bland anställda inom den kommunala hemtjänsten. Syftet med undersökningen var dels att undersöka sambanden mellan upplevd stress och tre dimensioner av utbrändhet (emotionell utmattning, cynism och prestationsförmåga), dels att undersöka vilka copingstrategier som är associerade med dessa utbrändhetsdimensioner. Ytterliggare ett syfte var att undersöka om de anställda kunde karaktä-riseras som utbrända. Ett frågeformulär distribuerades till 100 anställda inom den kommunala hemtjänsten i Malmö svarsfrekvensen var 41 %. Stress mättes med Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), coping har mättes med Brief COPE och utbrändhet mättes med Maslachs Burnout Inventory (MBI).

The aim of this essay is to examine three separate Swedish public libraries and their respective websites on the grounds of the usability sciences. I firstly had to summarize the main properties of the usability-field in order to gain an extended knowledge of its purposes and possible usage for today?s library systems. I was then able to apply the extended knowledge in the examination of the three library websites and the purpose of determining whether or not they were designed according to the standards set by the usability-sciences.Usability is a rather new science that deals with the dissection and examination of computer-based systems, in order to find the key components that make systems user-friendlier. With user needs being the main focus of its research, usability tries to meet all the different needs of the modern user and construct systems that are less system-centered and more user-centered.

Abstract Integrated mental training is a method that entails a systematic and long-term training of mental processes (thoughts, images, emotions) that aims to enhance performance as well as gratify feelings and improve thought processes. This training develops an alternative system of control by using substitute state of consciousness and self-hypnosis. The method is concerned with both mindfulness and performance approaches, which is crucial in order to feel and function better. The intent of this study is to highlight the experience of the different steps of integrated mental training to gain an understanding of how, where, and when changes occur. To achieve the objective of this study, a qualitative empirical method was used.

The specific task of this thesis is to illustrate the complexity of a cooperation between civilian and military entities by examining Provincial Reconstruction Teams (PRTs) and their role as an actor among others in the field in a war-torn Afghanistan.By using counterinsurgency strategy as an analytical framework it has been possible to examine the civilian and military contexts closer. Underlying structures concerning the norms and interpretation of reality of the PRTs has been partly revealed. Studies of the PRTs as one significant bearers of "the comprehensive approach", which includes a holistic approach regarding the use of civilian and military capabilities, new conclusions can be drawn on whether a general civil-military approach can be a part of the solution for current and future conflicts. Based on the counterinsurgency strategy, the author has identified three themes as bearing and thus appears through the thesis as a foundation. These are Coordination, Development and Security.

In a financially liberalized economy exchange rate stability is a basis for a wellbeing stock market. If these interactions between all the different subsystems of the financial markets are not detected, this means that there is information inefficiency in the markets.Problem: Can we find any correlation between changes in currency, interest rate and bonds with the stock market index? If so, how do these changes affect the Stockholm Stock Exchange?Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine if there is any linkage between the interest rate, currency and bonds with the stock market. The researchers wanted to find out how these variables affect the stock market index OMX S30 which consists of the 30 largest companies on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.Method: This research has been based on a quantitative approach.

He dismisses every categorization, every tematization, every moral based on an analytical reflection and compels us with an ethics that demands us not only to think, but to act and be responsible. The 21st century?s emphasis of the individual, globalization, plurality and the questioning of authorities has created new challenges for the individual who sees herself as the nave of morality.
