This report is a thesis work for a B.Sc. in Forestry exam at the School for Forest Engineers, SLU. The work was an assignment from Södra Skogsägarna and the aim of the work was to investigate the economical and biological output after mechanical planting with Eco-Planter compared with traditional manual planting. Eco-Planter is a tool for mechanized planting, fixed at the end of the boom on a conventional harvester. The study confirms that manual planting is less expensive under normal conditions. However, the differences between mechanized and manual planting are not that big and with technical development and/or increased labor costs together with an improved work organization the system with Eco-Planter could be competitive. The biological output, e.g. planting result and survival rate, seems to be quite good.

This report is a thesis work for a B.Sc. in Forestry exam at the School for Forest Engineers, SLU. The work was an assignment from Sydved Energy AB. The aim of the work was to compare the operational productivity between two kinds of forwarders for extraction of harvesting residues, one forwarder with a special compression device and one ordinary, slightly modified forwarder. Two sites were studied for each forwarder. The study shows that the annual production was about 11,000 m3 higher for the traditional forwarder. The cost for the traditional forwarder was SEK 0.9 lower per m3.

This report presents a thesis project conducted by two students at Mälardalens högskola. The project covers 15 points in industrial design and was conducted during April to June 2014. The principal of the thesis works at Plastic Produkter. The assignment was to develop equipment for an effective way to dose, mix silicon, fill a special designed plastic bag and then seal it. The bag is then formed into a breast model.When a customer for various reasons decides to do a breast augmentation or a breast reconstruction, there may be doubt or uncertainty about the result.

Hot och våld förekommer inom ambulanssjukvården. Ambulanspersonalen befinner sig ofta först på plats vid olyckor eller brottsplatser för att ta hand om sjuka och skadade människor. Vanligtvis är ambulanspersonalen ensamma och vid en del situationer förekommer missbruk eller andra sjukdomstillstånd, vilket kan göra patienterna aggressiva. Syftet med studien var att undersöka förekomsten av hot och våld mot ambulanspersonal i Sverige och hur samspelet mellan vårdare och patient påverkas, samt hur ambulanspersonalen påverkas av hot och våld på sikt. Med hjälp av enkäter samlades data in.

This work is a combination of a literature study and a practical pilotstudy. In the literature study essential physiological reasons of why anaesthesia of horses is so risky are explained. Diffrent methods of induction and recovery are brought up, together with significant aspects of positioning the horse on the operating table and perianaesthetic complications such as myopathy, neuropathy and limb fractures. The pilotstudy had the purpose of examine the bodytemperature of horses undergoing general anaesthesia and to control the perianaesthetic temperature measurements performed in Swedish horseclinics and veterinary hospitals. Our hypothesis was that the bodytemperature of the horses would decrease but not enough to cause a problem. The purpose of this work has been to gather more profound knowledges in the subject of perianaesthetic nursing of horses which is an important part of the assignment of a veterinary nurse..

Syftet med studien var att beskriva ambulanspersonalens självskattning/upplevelse av smärta i rygg, leder och muskler samt sömn, vila och återhämtning. Ytterligare ett syfte var att undersöka om det finns några skillnader i nämnda besvär relaterat till kön och yrkeskategori. Data samlades in med enkäter och personal vid fyra ambulansstationer i Mellansverige deltog i studien. Sammanlagt delades 110 enkäter ut och 89 enkäter besvarades (svarsfrekvens 81 %). Resultatet avseende själskattad smärta visade att 53 personer (59,6 %) uppgav att de hade haft ländryggsbesvär de senaste 12 månaderna.

Anestesisjuksköterskan kan arbeta över flera områden där arbete vid en anestesiklinik är det vanligaste. I arbetet på en anestesiklinik ingår även uppgiften att medverka vid patienttransporter mellan sjukhus, interhospitala transporter. Tidigare studier har visat att många specialistsjuksköterskor är oroliga och bekymrade över dessa uppdrag. De upplevde otrygghet, osäkerhet och brist på tydliga riktlinjer. Ansvaret är stort och ibland är det långt mellan sjukhusen.

Syfte: Att undersöka vad ambulanssjuksköterskor upplever kan finnas för problemområden vid arbete på skadeplats med maximalt fyra drabbade.Metod: Studien har en kvalitativ ansats. Nio ambulanssjuksköterskor i Uppsala, mellan 27 och 53 år, intervjuades. Ett bekvämlighetsurval gjordes. Tillstånd för studien anskaffades hos ambulansstationens verksamhetschef. Intervjuerna var semistrukturerade och spelades in med ljudupptagning.

This exam paper has been a collaboration between the writers and System Anderson AB. The assignment was about completing a client application, running on a PDA, and a server application, running as a web service. The web service handles the communication with System Anderssons existing database. The main goal for the application is that it will be used to increase efficiency in storage management. At Stanford University a global product development project wasrealized as part of the course ME310. The project was initiated by the American company ImmerseGlobal whose vision was to develop a new type of Atmospheric Water Generators, a machine that absorbsthe moisture in the air and via a water system transforms it to pure drinking water. The project was partlyfinanced by the Product Innovation Engineering program, a Swedish research and development programfor increased innovation capability in organizations.In parallel with the global project in the ME310 course the product development process was studied inorder to compare it with a product development course at the Royal Institute of Technology, IPU. Thetwo courses are similar to each other in several aspects.

Manne Bouveng, CEO of Optimel AB had an idea for a new kind of storage cabinet that could be adapted especially for townhouse owners. I came in contact with Manne by a familiar friend for us; we met and decided that it would suit as my thesis.What was needed to be done was a market research that would possibly show that there was a need for a new kind of storage cabinet on the market. Because of this we continued to work on the basic idea. We came up with a solution where we developed a box that resembles Optimels known mailbox Biggi Rondo, the storage cabinet is a new solution of a storage cabinet, adapted after a market that need of a lot of new space. The solution is based on a simple construction which sits an inside hang-off device which can attach tool hooks, tool holders and shelves and so on.The purpose of the assignment was to develop a new type of storage cabinet with some kind of solution to attach tools and other garden related stuff. With this we have succeeded and the concept meets the requirements we set ourselves at the beginning of the project..

AbstractThe assignment were assigned by Camatec Industriteknik AB. Camatec is a Karlstadlocated consulting company, they make everything from pilot studies to complete projects in mechanical design and calculation. They even have their own patented product, Camcoil. It is a winder for steel strips and is used for example with hardening of the steel strip. The assignment has been to solve the problems encountered by some customers within this product.

This report is a thesis work for a B.Sc. in Forestry at the School for Forest Engineers, SLU. The work was an assignment from Jarlträ AB which is a privately owned sawmill located in southern Småland. The aim of the work was to investigate the economical result of different pricelists and how to adjust different parameters such as length correction to give an optimal result. The pricelists was examined through a computer program (SilviA). The pricelists was made in the program and after that a simulation was preformed with a selection of random sampled trees gathered from the area nearby the sawmill.

Mötet mellan sjuksköterskan och närstående har en betydande roll i omvårdnaden, inte minst i ett prehospitalt skede. Sjuksköterskan inom ambulanssjukvården får i komplicerade situationer möta chockade närstående till patienter med hjärtstopp. Syftet med denna studie är att beskriva sjuksköterskans erfarenheter av mötet med närstående till patienter med hjärtstopp inom den prehospitala sjukvården.Datainsamlingen har skett genom intervjuer med åtta sjuksköterskor inom ambulanssjukvården. Informanterna har berättat om möten de haft med närstående till patienter med hjärtstopp. Intervjuerna spelades in och transkriberades.

För att trivas på en arbetsplats där påfrestande händelser präglar vardagen, måste det finnas vissa delar som gör att personalen stannar kvar och trivs med sitt arbete. Som ambulanssjuksköterska kan man dagligen utsättas för påfrestande händelser som kan påverka den enskilde och vårdandet. Vilka är då de positiva aspekterna och hur beskrivs de positiva delarna av att arbeta inom ambulanssjukvård?Syftet med denna studie var att belysa positiva upplevelser i ambulanssjuksköterskors arbete.En kvalitativ intervjustudie utfördes på tre olika ambulansstationer i Södra Sverige. Åtta informanter deltog, samtliga ambulanssjuksköterskor.Resultatet visar olika teman som belyser de positiva aspekterna med arbetet som ambulanssjuksköterska.
