It?s known that the drug information patients get at discharge from hospital is often insufficient. Patients? ignorance of which drug they use and how to take them can lead to drug related problems, can cause suffering and heavy expenses.The aim of this study was to shed light on the patients? understanding for drug information, which was given at discharge from hospital. The literature survey was used as a method and based upon a systematic choice of scientific articles, which were found in different databases during the period of April 1 to May 31, 2008.

Studenter är bland de som konsumerar mest alkohol i Sverige. Hög alkoholkonsumtion och extern akademisk locus of control (ALC) har liknande negativ effekter på studier. Denna studie undersökte relationen mellan alkoholkonsumtion, ALC och alkoholrelaterade studieproblem. 120 studenter, varav 91 var kvinnor, deltog genom att besvara en enkät bestående av The Academic Locus of Control Scale for College Students, the AUDIT Alcohol Consumption Questions och en egenkonstruerad skala som mätte alkoholrelaterade studieproblem. Data analyserades med en 2 (riskbruk/ickeriskbruk) x 2 (extern ALC/intern ALC) ANOVA för oberoende mätningar.

Trots skarp internationell kritik fortlöpte kampanjen utan större offentliga protester i Thailand.Thaksin annonserade i slutet av kampanjen drogkriget som en stor framgång. This study aims to examine how social workers, in the Swedish social services, perceive and interpret LVU § 3 from a gender perspective. In total eight social workers participated in the study, attending interviews based on a vignette. From a gender perspective we wanted to found out how the social workers define "other socially destructive behaviour" and understand their thoughts about this subject. Moreover, we aimed to see if social workers perceive any differences between boys and girls behaviour. Based on several theories, two gender theories and concepts we have analysed our result from the interviews.

Some businesses that are using vision technology follow US Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) regulation concerning audit trail. This thesis investigates the possibility to use vision technology for counting objects, achieving connectivity and to follow FDAs audit trail regulation. A market survey has been used to select suitable hardware and software to be used in the design of an application that is able to count objects and that uses standard industrial network connection i.e. OPC data access and Microsoft?s .NET components over Ethernet.

This is a thesis about The Eight Circuit Model, a modern mind map developed for the purpose of illumination and enlighenment by Dr. Timothy Leary in the 1970s. The aim of this study was to examine young adult cannabis users? attitudes towards cannabis and their perception of the normalization of cannabis. The purpose was also to explore how their views of cannabis correspond with norms regarding cannabis. This study is based on interviews with five young adult cannabis users. The theoretical framework is based on Parker?s normalization thesis, Goffman?s notion of stigma, Becker?s definition of outsiders and the definition of social identity developed by Stone.

The purpose of this essay was to examine the role of religious beliefs, actions and practice in young people's own description of their identity. An additional goal was to examine how young people describe their identity in relation to their primary and secondary socialization. A qualitative method was used with semi - structured interviews and six young people between the ages of 18 and 23 were interviewed.            The interview results show that three out of the six young people think of themselves as religious while the remaining three emphasize that they are secularized Muslims. The results also show that the young people emphasize that the celebration of feasts in the family is the main focus.  Four out of the six young people point out that they are themselves among friends, their families and in the mosque, while the remaining two feel a communion with their Muslim friends and people in the mosque.       Three out of the six young people consume alcohol and eat pork, while the remaining three refrain from this. The young people emphasize that their beliefs are a personal matter between themselves and God, and that their actions don't define them as being Muslims or non-Muslims..

Alkolås är en teknik som gör att fordonet inte går att starta om föraren har alkohol i utandningsluftet. Vissa alkolås som hittills använts är utrustade med en minnensfunktion som regelbundet töms och bearbetas i ett särskillt pc-bearbetat dataprogram. Syftet med undersökningen var att utreda vart gränsen går till att kränka den personliga integriteten för att öka trafiksäkerheten med hjälp av alkolås, samt att utreda attityden till alkolås. Undersökningen är baserad på enkäter som besvarats av Luleå Lokaltrafik, Pitetaxi och Testplats Botnia. Ett problem med alkolås är att individen inte har kunskap om alkolåsets funktioner, och de integritetsproblem som kan uppkomma.

This study investigates how the host community of Tenerife perceives the socio-cultural effects of tourism on the island. The method chosen for the study was qualitative interviews which were performed with six respondents, each born in Spain, living permanently in Tenerife and employed within service-related occupations. The interview material was interpreted and handled according to a hermeneutic approach. The results of the study showed that the respondents had an over-all positive perception of tourism. Perceived positive socio-cultural effects were related to cultural and linguistic influences.

Addiction has been a problem for centuries. However, it wasn`t until the 1930s that research in this field was conducted systematically. At that time, the main focus was the wife of the alcoholic. Thirty years later the first stress-theories evolved. The theories showed that the husband´s drinking triggered the wife´s stress.

AbstractSyftet med studien var att utvärdera fluoxetins effekt på hetsätning och kräkning vid bulimia nervosadå ingen samtidigt psykoterapi ges. Även tid för behandlingseffekt, förändringar på andrasjukdomskarakteristika, förekomst av viktförändring och biverkningar undersöktes. Studiengenomfördes som en litteraturstudie. Sökningar efter litteratur skedde i Pubmed, Google, ELIN,Artikelsök, Cochrane, EMEA, SweMed+. Sökorden var; bulimia, bulimia nervosa, fluoxetine, prozac,psychotropic drugs, antidepressive agents, serotonin uptake inhibitors, ätstörning, eating, disorder.Sammanfattningsvis hade fluoxetin 60 mg/dag en god effekt på att minska antalet hetsätningar ochkräkningar per vecka jämfört med placebo.

The aim of this study was to explore the students? use of and attitudes towards cannabis at Linnaeus University. Social psychology and gender perspective was used as theories to explain the use and attitudes among the students? and how the use and attitudes could change through social influence. The study operates from a quantitative approach and is based on an online survey which includes answers from 126 respondents.

Bakgrund: Ett av de effektivaste sätten att förhindra vidare utveckling av vårdrelaterade infektioner anses vara utbildning av vårdpersonal i basal vårdhygien samt att undersöka hur följsamheten till denna kunskap efterlevs. Syfte: Var med denna studie att undersöka skillnaderna i tillämpningen av följsamheten till basal vårdhygien mellan legitimerade sjuksköterskor och utbildade undersköterskor som ingår i det dagliga omvårdnadsarbetet. Metod: En strukturerad observationsstudie utförd på ett universitetssjukhus där utbildade undersköterskor och legitimerade sjuksköterskor valdes att observeras. En enkätundersökning genomfördes för att undersöka om och hur personalen äger kunskaper för de riktlinjer observationerna grundar sig på. Resultat: Handdesinfektion utfördes sämre före patientkontakt än efter för båda yrkeskategorierna. Följsamheten till användning av handskar var hög då bägge yrkesgrupperna använde dessa i nästintill alla arbetsmoment där indikation förelåg.

Uppsatsens syfta är att förmedla den syn på farmaceuters arbetsliv som förmedlas av mina informanter vilka alla tjänstgjort på apotek i mer än 25 år. Metoden som jag använt vid mina intervjuer består av anteckningar under 80-120 minuters samtal som sedan direkt skrivits ut av mig. Tre av mina informanter är apotekare och två är receptarier. Fyra påbörjade sin utbildning direkt efter studentexamen medan en arbetade i många år som apotekstekniker innan hon blev receptarie.För tre av mina informanter som är pensionärer började arbetslivet på apotek före det statliga monopolet 1970/1971 och de beskriver den tid då apotekaryrket fortfarande hade karaktären av ett skrå. De två andra började sitt yrkesliv under monopolets tid men har nu efter 2010 fått nya arbetsuppgifter.
