Today many companies are global and can exist all over the world. It is more common that projects are conducted in different locations, from various cities in a country to nations in different parts of the world. To manage projects both traditional practices such as the Waterfall method and new flexible methods known as Agile methods are used. How is the process affected when a project is distributed, when the team is scattered in different places? This makes it difficult to create a good project, something we will discuss and try to find solutions for.

Internal communication is an important factor in organisations today. For many system development teams it?s critical that the communication works well. Without communication, success would be impossible. This study aims to highlight the effect communication has on the members of Agile project teams.

To assure good quality the software needs to be tested to find errors and to verify that the programme meets the customer?s expectations. Traditional methods are usually used in software development and means that a number of predetermined steps are followed. By using Agile methods the development can more easily be adapted to the changes on the market. With these methods the testing is carried out continuously throughout the project.

Companies show interest in Agile methods, but this can be challenging since these methods to a certain degree stand against traditional project methods. If the use of Agile methods increase it is of importance to clarify what mechanisms that are significant to a successful result. The aim of this study is to clarify the role of the scrum master regarding conflict management in Agile groups. The goal of the study is to better prepare the ScrumMaster to be ready to help the group in a conflict situation. In this examination a qualitative method has been used where five scrum masters, active in Agile projects, have been interviewed about their role in conflict management.

This thesis was made possible by the company Verendus system AB, which is the leading developer of dealership management systems in the caravan and camper market. The goal of the thesis was to create a statistics module for a new producer system envisioned by Verendus. The new system is aimed at manufacturers and importers of caravans and campers, with the goal of enabling its users to create more effective production lines. By providing statistical data to mentioned users they will be able to predict market trends and customize their production lines accordingly. Today such software does not exist which leads Verendus to think that its arrival would lead to a success on the market.Before the development and design of the producer system began, a new Agile method had to be developed, MAM (Minimum Agile Method).

Bakgrund:Företagens villkor utifrån ett konkurrensperspektiv ändras idag fortare än någonsin och möjligheterna att nå framgång bygger i högre grad på en förmåga att förutse, anpassa sig till och agera på omvärldens snabbt föränderliga krav. Flertalet forskare redogör för att företags lednings- och styrkoncept måste förändras för att tillgodose de behov som den moderna globala marknadens dynamik ställer. De senaste decennierna har Lean och Agile trätt fram som två lednings- och styrkoncept som vunnit i popularitet och anammats av många företag som önskar effektivisera sin verksamhet. Både Lean och Agile använts främst inom produktion och det finns relativt lite forskning kring hur dessa två lednings- och styrmodeller appliceras inom andra verksamhetsområden samt hur de kan kombineras.Syfte:Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur ledningsgrupper inom en global IT- organisation använder sig av och kombinerar Lean och Agile, samt hur ledningsgrupperna upplever att detta påverkar deras arbetssätt och leveransförmåga.Metod:Studien är genomförd i form av en kvalitativ fallstudie av företaget Volvo IT. Insamling av data har skett via intervjuer med representanter för olika ledningsgrupper inom Volvo IT samt genom att sitta med vid möten och föra anteckningar och via insamlad dokumentation från websidor och intern företagsinformation.Slutsats:Resultaten visar på att Lean och agila arbetssätt tycks fungera bra ihop och kompletterar varandra väl.

Systemutveckling har på senare år rört sig mot allt mer flexibla metoder för att bedriva utveckling, ett agilt förhållningssätt vid systemutveckling i dagens IT-bolag är inte alls ovanligt. I takt med förändring av tillvägagångssättet har även ett moment inom testningen fått allt mer fokus: Testautomatisering. Vissa författare hävdar till och med att det inte går att bedriva agil systemutveckling utan att införa testautomatisering. Syftet med uppsatsen är därför att undersöka vilka utmaningar en testare inom de agila metoderna stöter på vid testautomatisering. Detta utförs med hjälp av intervjuer på fem olika företag av fem olika testare där de alla har en gemensam nämnare, att de jobbar agilt..

Syftet med denna undersökning har varit att utforska och förstå hur ledarskapet påverkas när en organisation genomgår en förändring till en agil verksamhet. Bakgrunden till undersökningen grundar sig i den traditionella synen på ledarskap där chefen ledde och fördelade arbetet. Under 1950-talet förändrades synen på arbetsledning och arbetsfördelning där medarbetarna blev allt mer delaktiga i arbetsprocessen.Med utgångspunkt i detta har vår forskning behandlat de effekter på ledarskapet som inträffar när en organisation går ifrån ?command and control? till ?empowerment?. Därav har vi ställt upp följande frågeställningar; Hur har kontrollen (över teamen) förändrats för linjechefen i övergången från Classic Waterfall till Agile, På vilket sätt har förändringen påverkat linjechefens informationshämtning till att genomföra IPM-samtal och Vilka effekter får förändringen på ledarstilen när organisationen övergår till en agil organisation.Vi har använt oss av en kvalitativ metod där åtta semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med linjechefer ur två avdelningar för att samla in vårt empiriska material.

In a dynamic and unpredictable reality, either rigid structures or silo architectures areappropriate ways to organize an Agile organization. This thesis enlightens these relationsbetween Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and an organization who acts in a varied andconstantly changing business environment. In other words, this thesis enlightens the question:?How suitable is SOA to organize the enterprise who will meet a constantly changing andheterogenic business environment?.The thesis presents a model where an efficient organization must be Agile to be able to actquickly in the business environments with constantly changing desires, needs, expectations,desires etc. According to the same model a Service Oriented Architecture organizes theenterprise elements such as processes, resources, competences, responsibilities, informationsystems etc.

Currently many organizations are transitioning from the traditional approach to the Agile approach regarding systems development methods. It is evident that research has mainly focused on smaller organizations transitioning, whilst less focus has been given t0 larger organizations. We find this interesting and the purpose of this study is to gain a deeper and broader knowledge concerning the following research question: How is system development work affected by a change from traditional system development methods to Scrum in large global organizations. We also investigate how Scrum can be adapted to complex projects with an internal client. The study is based on a case study, which takes a qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews for information gathering and was conducted on a major Swedish telecom company.

The Thesis purpose is in the context of system development validate the Scrum Methodology. Projects concerning information technology are difficult to manage and tend to fail in quality, time or costs. Scrum presents a new view of the system development. Better cooperation between customers and developers, continuous follow-up on daily basis and extensive communication in the development team are all characteristics of Scrum. Scrum is described as a new paradigm by its founders but has been criticized by experts of system development too.

As changes occur more frequently in IT- and software development, it is important for the companies to meet the demands and needs of its customer. The companies have to be able to adapt themselves continuously in order till fulfill its customers changing needs in an effective way, which results in big changes of the companies? structures. The more traditional way of working is often replaced with more alternative approaches as a response to the reputable deficiencies of its predecessors. As an effect of the rapid change and development some companies now see big potential in switching to more Agile and flexible methods and some companies have no choice but to change their way of working.

Syftet med studien är att undersöka prototyper i samband med systemutveckling, och då särskilt om agila utvecklingsmetoder har påverkat hur prototypning används.En genomgång av begreppet prototyp och närliggande begrepp görs för att klargöra vad som kan avses med prototyper inom systemutveckling. En översikt över olika synsätt på prototyper och deras användning presenteras, och leder vidare till en teoretisk modell för prototyper i systemutveckling.Systemutvecklare och experter intervjuas för att bringa klarhet i begreppen och ta reda på hur prototyper används i systemutvecklingsprojekt i praktiken. Utifrån detta material presenteras en vidareutveckling av den första teoretiska modellen. Problemrymd och lösningsrymd hör till modellens centrala begrepp.Studien visar att agila utvecklingsmetoder påverkar arbetet med prototyper i riktning mot att utföra prototypning i det ordinarie utvecklingsspåret samt att hämta in regelbunden återkoppling på prototyper från användare och andra intressenter under hela systemutvecklingsprojektets gång. Sådana arbetssätt visade sig också förekomma inom den praktiska systemutvecklingen..
