This master thesis describes the development of an UPS module. UPS is an acronym for Uninterruptable Power Supply. The UPS module has been developed at the company AerotechTelub AB. The UPS module delivers the necessary voltage and current in case of a power interrupt. If a power interrupt occur, the computer system has one to three minutes available to store data and shut down correctly.

This essay deals with the results and observations made during excavations in an iron age cemetery in Alsike hage, located in Alsike parish. The excavations took place in 2005 and 2006 and the investigated area comprised two adjacent, but secluded burial-constructions; a square stone setting with a secondary grave, and a stone-built terrace with at least one secondary grave. The artifacts suggests that the TPQ of the stone setting, and the construction date of the rest of the graves, is 900-950 A.D. On October 17, 2012, TV4 broadcasted an episode of the documentary series Kalla fakta. The episode received a lot of attention when it revealed that Parken Zoo, a very popular destination for families, was not as well maintained beneath the surface as it gave the impression of being. The case attracted attention in all possible media for a long time, which led to a beginning of an extensive investigation of the Zoo.The purpose of this study is to examine how Parken Zoo handled the media after the examination of TV4?s Kalla fakta, and how it affected people?s confidence in the Zoo. This paper consists of an overall case study of Parken Zoo that can be divided into two different methods.

The scope of this project is to make a comparison of costs associated with wind and nuclear power in order to decide which one of these is the most suitable in the case of an increased demand for electricity. It is also investigated if there are other factors that can influence the choice of energy source.An average cost is calculated in terms of kronor per kilowatt-hour (SEK/kWh) using cost of investment, operation & maintenance and taxes & subsidies. Total investment cost is recalculated to production cost using the annuity method at three different interest rates (6%, 9% and 12%).The comparison is made between three cases of wind power and two cases of nuclear power. For wind power there are two ocean-based (300MW and 100MW installed capacity, respectively) and one land-based (60MW) wind farm. For nuclear power there is one EPR-reactor (1600MW) and one AP1000-reactor (1100MW).

The purpose of this project was to study how the interference between two antennas in a MIMO system affects the linearity of the power amplifiers powering the antennas. For the MIMO system, two power amplifiers and twoantennas were constructed and designed using the software ADS and a software defined radio was constructed using the platform USRP and the software LabVIEW. The result was that the interference between the antennas affectsthe linearity of the power amplifiers powering the antennas adversely and a reasonable theory was that the interaction decreases inversely proportional tothe square of the distance..

Layoffs may have severe consequences for organizations, and not least on the motivation of the remaining staff in the company when trying to keep on performing the given tasks. How can one with the use of rewards and goal setting affect the motivation on the remainder of the staff? This thesis is dealing with the question of how the management of Bilbolaget Nord AB, who were stricken by layoffs, are working to enhance motivation of the remaining staff with the use of rewards and goal setting. This is a qualitative case study where we have focused our attention to the workshop department at Bilbolaget Nord AB and empirics have been collected by conducting interviews with middle management executives and a questionnaire study with the remaining employees. An in-depth study of theories regarding motivation, goal setting and rewards was made in order to be able to compare and analyze the theories with the case.

Denna studie syftar till att reflektera över den makt medierna besitter genom att studera de retoriska knep och tillvägagångssätt som Svenska Dagbladet och Sydsvenskan använder i sina ledare för att försöka övertyga läsarna. Tidningarna står nära varandra politiskt, men ändå inte på precis samma punkt på den politiska skalan, så det var då intressant att se om deras syn på valen skilde sig åt. För att komma fram till detta har jag använt mig av den klassiska maktteorin agenda setting och de retoriska teorierna om metaforer. Dessa teorier har applicerats under genomförandet av en retorisk analys av de ledare om valen som publicerats under första kvartalet 2012. I den retoriska analysen har de retoriska begreppen identifierats, analyserats och tolkats utifrån hermeneutiska förhållningssätt gällande min egen förförståelse.

While current technology is more energy efficient, more and more technologies are implemented into a single unit resulting in an overall increase of power consumption.Low power consumption is an increasingly important feature of a system today. Lower power consumption means lower costs, less environmental impact, and longer life for applications that runs on batteries.This work compiles methods to reduce power consumption of Linux systems. Popular Culture is inherently political and the connection between popular culture and world politics in particular is something that has been established through years of research by multiple scholars. In this essay, my aim is to analyze how American Power is represented in popular culture. This is done in context of the decline of the American led liberal hegemony and a new Multiplex world order. A world order with multiple influential actors with varying levels of power. To analyze the way popular culture portrays American power, I have used the movie Top Gun: Maverick (2022) as an example and analyzed scenes from the movie.

Syftet med den här studien är att undersöka vilka ämnen tidningen Göteborgs-Posten rapporterar om som rör grundskolan, dess lärare och elever. Vidare har studien som syfte att undersöka om det finns skillnader i rapporteringen från 1996 jämfört med rapporteringen 2006.För att komma fram till studien syfte har diskursanalys använts som utgångspunkt. Bland annat har van Dijk och hans diskursbegrepp ämne använts. Studien tar även upp media och makten genom att diskutera agenda-setting theory och gatekeeping för att ge ett bredare perspektiv av media som en maktinstitution i samhället.Slutsatsen av analysen är att rapporteringen under 1996 och 2006 är ungefär densamma i Göteborgs-Posten gällande grundskolan, dess lärare och elever. De skillnader som framkommer är att under 1996 finns det fler artiklar som rör studien ämnesområde jämfört med 2006.

During the last years commercial Wind Power Turbines (WPT) has become larger regardingto the generator sizes and hub heights. Available hub heights around 100 meters is nowcommon, which has led to profitability for WPT located in forests where there normally are tolow wind speeds. The current knowledgement regarding turbulence and the variation in thewind profile for the outcome of the power production for the WPT in forests is limited.In this Master of Science thesis an investigation concerning forest located wind power plantshas been made. The purpose has been to investigate if plants located in forest perform lesscompared to wind power turbines located at more common locations.The analyses are based on statically material for determining the availability,production/generator size, production/hub height, production/swept area and how thetopography affect the production results.The analyses show that the variation in production result for WPT located in forest comparedto turbines located at other locations is small. Since 2004, wind power has had the largest installation of new capacity compared to other energy sources in Sweden. Accommodating new wind power may require strengthening or rebuilding of the existing grid in areas where the grid is already loaded to maximum capacity. This master thesis examine the possibility of a new 400/130 kV substation in Yttermalung, Sweden, with a connection to the two neighboring regional grids in Dalarna and Värmland owned by Fortum. This substation would provide a new connection point to the Swedish transmission system as well as an interconnection of the two, currently separated, regional grids. Different expansion scenarios where a substation with and without series compensation or a phase shifting transformer (PST) to control active power flow were studied.

Abstract Back ground: Home based care is a meaningful activity giving patients and their families a chance to live their lives as close to normal as possible. Advanced palliative care is today provided at home, although geography does play a role in shaping that care. A rural setting can mean that conditions for such care differ from those in urban areas.Purpose: To describe the experiences of district nurses in palliative home care settings in a rural community.Method: Semi structured interviews with seven district nurses. The interviews were recorded digitally and transcribed in a precise fashion. A method of qualitative analysis of the contents, inspired by Burnard, was used to analyze the material.Results: Palliative care places high demands on the competency and experience of district nurses.
