The purpose of this study was to examine the political party ?Feministiskt initiativ? (Fi) and their communication during the election campaign 2006. We wanted to find out what the intention was and how the communication was received by the public. We also looked for signs of congruence between those two sides.Fi is the first political party with a feministic ideology to candidate for the parliament in Sweden. The party is rather new and their political standpoints and internal affairs have often been subject of for debate in the media.We wanted to investigate people?s individual opinions of the matter, and therefore we chose to personally interview a number of people.

Infectious Bronchitis (IB) is a highly contagious viral respiratory and productiondepressant disease distributed world wide. The disease is caused by the InfectiousBronchitis Virus (IBV), a positive RNA strand Avian Coronavirus within thegenus Gammacoronavirus. Due to a combination of high mutation rate and atendency of recombination a constant emergence of new genotypes and serotypesis seen. In Brazil, a country with an extensive poultry production and majorproblems with disease control, the diversity of circulating strains are wide andoutbreaks of clinical disease despite intensive use of vaccines are common. Theaim of this study was to investigate the presence of IBV and to identify genotypesof isolated IBVs in a limited number of layer flocks in Bastos, São Paulo, as partof the screening for circulating genotypes in the country.

Tomato production is a common and important agricultural activity in Nicaragua. During the last decades tomato producers have suffered great yield losses due to begomoviruses (family Geminiviridae). The genome of begomoviruses generally consists of two circular ssDNA components, DNA-A and DNA-B. Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV) is an example of a begomovirus with only one component. An approach to manage the virus epidemics has been to breed a cultivar with begomovirus resistance genes, which have been transferred from wild tomato.

Bakgrund: Idag ges ECT-behandling främst vid djupa depressioner, med eller utan psykotiska eller melankoliska drag samt vid bipolär sjukdom. Behandlingens önskvärda effekt är den antidepressiva delen. Som en biverkan kan patienter drabbas av minnesstörningar i varierande omfattning. Syfte: Att beskriva patienters upplevelser och sjuksköterskans roll vid ECT-behandling. Metod: Studien gjordes som en litteraturöversikt.

Stress är en växande folksjukdom i Sverige och en grupp som kan vara särskilt utsatta för kumulativ stress är soldater som ligger i beredskap. Vi har från våra förfäder ärvt en förmåga att vid fara reagera med en stressreaktion som en förberedelse för kamp eller flykt, också med en reaktion som gör att vi kan bli handlingsförlamade. Om dessa reaktioner upprepas gång på gång utan att kroppen får utlopp för den höjda energinivån ökar slitaget på kroppen. Stresshormoner samlas i kroppen och byggs på och kan under en längre tidsperiod leda till kumulativ stress. Om detta fortsätter kan det leda till ett utmattningssyndrom.Syftet med uppsatsen är att kartlägga hur soldater som ligger i beredskap upplever sin allmänna hälsa och den stress som de dagligen utsätts för.

Bronchiolitis is a common performance decreasing disease in horses (Bracher et al, 1991¸Dixon et al, 1995) Its medical treatment includes inhalation therapy with corticosteroids and b2-adrenoceptorer stimulators. Use of both these medicines is prohibited for sport horses and athletes. Because the facemasks used for inhalation therapy are not airtight, there is a risk for leakage of these medicines. We wanted to see if cross exposure of nearby horses can result during normal recommended treatment of a horse, and assess if this could result in doping positive urine sample from the person treating the horse and from horses in the same airspace. We did a pilot study with four healthy horses. The experiment was divided into four parts.

This thesis has been performed at Clinical Chemistry at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg. The purpose of the project was to investigate new and alternative ways to determinate synthetic cannabinoids by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Currently, the possibilities to quantify synthetic cannabinoids are very limited. This can lead to an increased use of synthetic cannabinoids as the risk of detection is low, which may be known by drug users. The synthetic cannabinoids are sold mixed with different herbs and have varying names like Spice Gold, Spice Silver, K2, Smoke and Pot-pourri.The synthetic cannabinoids analyzed were JWH-018 and JWH-073, which are commonly found in seized Spice material.

Huvudsyftet med studien är att undersöka om det finns skillnader i risktagande mellan individer som bor i olika områden inom Gävle kommun, med konsumtion av försäkringsskydd som riskmått. Gävle kommuns 18 områden är indelade i fyra regioner vilka är centrum, norr, söder-väst och öst.Delsyftet är att studera vilka individuella variabler såsom ålder, förvärvsinkomst, boende, boendeförhållande, utbildning samt sysselsättning som påverkar konsumtionen av försäkringsskydd. Vidare syftar studien till att studera hur två fenomen, adverse selection och moral hazard, vilka härrör från informationsasymmetri, påverkar konsumtionen av försäkringsskydd.Metod: Arbetet utgår ifrån fyra stycken valda metoder vilka är klassificering, kvantifiering, hypotesprövning samt komparation. Vidare har sambandsmåttet, chi-två (?2), använts för att antingen falsifiera eller inte falsifiera en uppställd hypotes.

Every year begomovirus infections cause severe constraints to the tomato production in Nicaragua. Extensive yield losses are followed by large economical losses, both for the country and the single farmer. During recent years the use of begomovirus resistant or tolerant tomato cultivars has increased in Nicaragua as an effort to improve yields. Still, begomovirus infection is a large threat to the tomato production. Therefore, ongoing work in Nicaragua is focusing on finding new, better, begomovirus tolerant or resistant tomato cultivars.

In studies of serum, in the early 1930s, from patients with pneumonia, a factor was found. It could agglutinate certain pneumococcal species. This factor, which later became known as C-reactive protein (CRP), increased sharply during the early and middle stages of the disease. CRP was identified as an acute phase protein and found especially in bacterial infections. CRP is synthesized in the liver by stimulation of interleukin 6 (IL-6), which is produced by the monocytes, and consists of five non-covalently bound subunits.The aim of this study was to compare two different analytical instruments (Vitros 5.1 FS Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics and QuikRead CRP Orion Diagnostica) for CRP analysis.

The purpose of our study is to examine what risk factors can contribute to a child/youth with neuropsychiatric disorders developing an addiction to drugs. We also wanted to find out what protective factors can contribute not to develop an addiction. In order to find out these two different aspects we interviewed twelve professionals to get their view upon the matter. The professionals work within different sectors such as school, healthcare, social services and one of the interviewed is a member of an organization that specialises in neuropsychiatric disorders.When analysing our result of the interviews we used Bronnfenbrenner´s theory on the ecology of human development. What we found was that there are significant risk factors and protective factors on different levels of the child's environment.On the first level, the microsystem, interpersonal relations have an impact on the child's development.

Bakgrund: Alkohol- och drogmissbruk är idag ett utbrett problem som drabbar minst 15,3 miljoner människor världen över. Det råder en allmän stigmatisering i dagens samhälle mot missbrukare, bland gemene man samt inom hälso- och sjukvården. Denna stigmatisering har skapats dels på grund av den bild media skapar av den stereotypa missbrukaren och dels på grund av okunskap. Sjuksköterskor hyser ofta fördomar mot denna patientgrupp vilket kan leda till bristfällig vård. Syfte: Syftet är att beskriva sjuksköterskans erfarenhet och upplevelse av att vårda patienter som missbrukar alkohol och droger.

Genom att utveckla kvalitetsindikatorer kan man mäta och jämföra kostnader och volymer i läkemedelsanvändningen mellan länder samt få en egen profil på varje lands användande. Syftet var att i tio EU medlemsländer jämföra skillnaderna i förskrivningsmönstret av diabetesmedel (ATC A10). Data på diabetesläkemedel, expedierade på apotek i öppenvård, bearbetades. Användningen analyserades på substansnivå och angavs i Definierad Dygnsdoser (DDD) och kostnad i Euro.
