I studien har två experiment utförts med tyngdpunkt på arbetsminnets komponenter. Experimenten utgår från Baddeleys teori om arbetsminnet som är uppdelat på exekutiva funktioner för kontroll av olika undersystem, en fonologisk loop för auditiv information, ett visuospatialt skissblock för visuell information och en episodisk buffert för integrering av olika typer av information. För att testa dessa komponenter mot varandra utformades ett bildbaserat test för den episodiska bufferten. I experiment 2 ingick även två väletablerade test för kontroll av chunking och Stroop-effekten. Syftet var att kontrollera om det finns något samband mellan den episodiska bufferten och de andra komponenterna i Baddeleys min-nesmodell.

The aim of this study is to describe successful strategies to include children in free play activities at the preschool. The methods that pedagogues use to act and work with excluded children will be examined. To get answers to my questions I have conducted interviews with five pedagogues in four preschools. During interviews they mention two different approaches to encourage free play activity. One way was to participate and play along with the children.

Swedish design is known all over the world and is seen in national as well as in international arenas. There is only one design organization in Sweden that has the task to represent Swedish design in public. The organization is Swedish Form and it is the oldest design organization in the world. It has a huge influence in our society, within design and form. In the end of 1990 the association received its first government assignment, which still continues.

This project is a contribution in the debate of sustainable city planning. The conceptual ideas in this project can be used on many places and are here applyed on the center of Nacka, outside of Stockholm. The essay is based on an entry in the competition Europan 9, advertised by Europan in collaboration with the municipality of Nacka. The theme of the competition is ?sustainable city and public space?. The discussion of the sustainable city is a very wide subject which needs to be narrowed to suite the context of Nacka.

From a view of health strategies and techniques this thesis wants to throw a light on how the individual in its"health thinking"is governed. A thinking that, according to the author, can lead to a new way of governing as in municipal activity, an activity whose focus is on health and ill-health. The study is done whit a theoretical approach of power, with qualitative interviews as method and analysed from a perspective of Governmentality. The object for the study is Socsam and Rehabrådgivarna in Finspång. Socsam is a local project, and their main task is to create cooperation between health- and medical services, social services and social insurance.

The spontaneous blink rate is found to be a non-invasive but functional, reliable and useful way to monitor central dopaminergic activity. Dopamine is associated with a range of functions such as reward, motivation and learning. It plays an important role in goal-directed behavior and in maintaining a behavior once a task is learned. As far as the author knows, there are today no publications that discuss the topic regarding the possible link between training and spontaneous blink rate in dogs. Therefore, eight privately owned dogs were included in this study to determine if there was a significant difference in the spontaneous blink rate before and after the process of learning a task.

Bakgrund: I Sverige finns det en könsskillnad som visar att flickor mår sämre och har en mer negativ självvärdering jämfört med pojkar. Självbilden är en stark bidragande orsak till barns psykiska hälsa och det finns ett samband mellan barns självbild och attityd till beröring. Metod: Tre enkäter: Jag Tycker Jag Är (JTJÄ), Ben Sira psychological distress (Bspd) och egenformulerade frågor om taktil massage (TM) samlades in bland 93 elever i årskurs sju från en mindre inlandsstad i södra Sverige. Svaren analyserades med oberoende t-test och Pearsons korrelationstest i SPSS 2.0.0. Resultat: Resultatet av ett oberoendet-test visade att det fanns en tendens till könsskillnad i en aspekt avsjälvvärdering (JTJÄ).

The landscape in the interior of Norrland has undergone dramatic changes since the deglaciation as a consequence of faultings, earthquakes and tilting of the landscape westwards. Archaeological investigations along former shorelines by the use of models of isostatic land uplift, have revealed many Mesolitic settlements in northern Sweden. Döudden, in the county of Arjeplog, has been investigated by archaeologists that identified settlements from 5200 BC. The objective of this study was to analyse the history of the vegetation and if the vegetation showed traces of human activity during early Holocene, by pollen analysis. During the past few years there has been an observed decrease in physical fitness within different patient groups. As a part of the rehabilitating physiotherapy treatment it is important to acknowledge the physical condition of the patient. Physical fitness testing might be difficult due to physical limitations within different patient groups. A broad range of exercise tests is therefore of importance in clinical practice. The aim of this overview was to describe exercise tests used in rehabilitation contexts, and to define areas of use and restrictions.

Syftet med studien var att beskriva arbetsterapeuters erfarenhet av att använda instrumentet Mini Mental Test (MMT) vid utredning och interventioner för personer med demens. Inklusionskriterier för att delta i studien var att deltagarna ska vara legitimerade arbetsterapeuter verksamma inom landsting eller kommun i Kalmar-, Östergötlands- och Västernorrlands län, samt att deltagarna har erfarenhet av instrumentet Mini Mental Test vid utredning och interventioner för personer med demens. Totalt medverkade sju arbetsterapeuter i studien. Data samlades in genom semi-strukturerade intervjuer med stöd av en intervjuguide och insamlad data analyserades utifrån en kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Analys av data resulterade i tre kategorier ?Logiskt men inte tillräckligt?, ?Användandet av resultatet för arbetsterapeuter och andra professioner? och ?Faktorer som påverkar och vikten av förberedelse?.

Studien avser att undersöka utvecklingen av styrkeuthållighet och aerob förmåga efter sexveckors träningscamp med MIT-Fitness. Campet består av tre träningstillfällen med högintensiv intervallträning á 75 minuter i veckan. Deltagarna i studien var regelbundet fysisk aktiva kvinnor (n=4) som tidigare deltagit i MIT-Fitness träningscamp. Åstrands cykeltest användes för att undersöka förändringen av den maximala syreupptagningsförmågan(VO2max). Utvecklingen av styrkeuthållighet undersöktes genom dynamiska och statiska tester.

Syftet med denna studie var att analysera vilken del av försäsongsträningens två cykler som påverkade styrka och explosivitet i nedre extremitet, accelerationsförmåga, agility och anaerob uthållighet genom att sammanställa dessa egenskaper hos kvinnliga elitfotbollsspelare, för att därefter kunna utvärdera om försäsongsträningen förbättrade dessa egenskaper.Tester som kunnat påvisa viktiga och avgörande fysiska kvalitéer hos elitfotbollsspelarevaldes ut och dessa genomfördes vid tre tillfällen; före, under och efter försäsongsträningen. Testerna var; knäböj, vertikalhopp, 15 m sprint, T-test och YO-YO Intermittent Återhämtningstest (YO-YO IÅ).Studien innefattade 24 damfotbollsspelare på elitnivå från alla spelarpositioner.Till den andra testomgången observerades en signifikant förbättring av styrka, agility och anaerob uthållighet. Vid de andra testerna observerades ingen skillnad.Första delen av försäsongsträningen utvecklade till viss del spelarna åt rätt håll genom en förbättring av styrkan i nedre extremiteten. Den signifikanta förbättringen i agility och anaerob uthållighet kom lite för tidigt, det vill säga under den första cykeln avförsäsongsträningen, vilket hade varit mer önskvärt efter den andra cykeln. This master thesis in economics discusses the time use of today as well as the observed trends in time use over the last 20 years in Sweden. This is done by analysing time-use and consumption data at the microeconomic level, i.e. by explaining individual behaviour given the economic assumption of a rational behaviour. We reach the conclusion that the value of time is an important explanatory variable concerning the rationality in that time is used differently by different individuals and in the changed use of time. Furthermore, other variables such as social norms and the process benefit of a certain activity, i.e.

A bioslurry reactor was built for the bioremediation of TNT contaminated waste from the demilitarization industry. The field test was conducted at Vingåkersverken in Vingåker, Sweden, to see if results from laboratory studies could be repeated in a full scale reactor. The goal of the project was to optimize the reactor to such a degree that it could be used to handle the waste produced at Vingåkersverken and also that this technique could be applied for remediation of contaminated soils. Unfortunately the samples taken during the full scale field test were destroyed by the shipping company and no analysis was possible. A later attempt by the Biorex research group has also been unsuccessful to reduce the amount of TNT using the bioreactor.

This project has as main goal to study the influence of the coating thickness, deposited by arc-PVD- technology, on the wear resistance of coated cemented carbide inserts in three different turning operations. An additional effort has also been made to develop a new test method for evaluating flank wear resistance. Three different coating types (Coating A, Coating B and Coating C) have been studied in three distinctive thicknesses (2, 4 and 6 µm) for each type. For two of the coating types (Coating A and B) special studies has been done with the thickest coating, creating two additional coating versions of the thickest coating, by changing various deposition parameters, with the aim to enhance the cohesive properties of the coating and lower the residual stresses at the cutting edge. The results show increased crater wear resistance with increased coating thickness for all coating types, but the amount of increase changes with coating type (Coating A>B>C).
