This essay is about USA and the former Soviet Union and their nuclear disarmament. The purpose is to explain why and when the two states begun their nuclear disarmament, as well as what caused the start of the process.

The aim of the present paper was to see why a recommended course of action is not always followed in the way it is supposed to. The paper deals with a new method (SFA-metoden) used by The Social Insurance Agency in working with sick-listed people. Aspects that are elaborated on are local effects of the method at its introduction, case managers work conditions, and control of the implementation of the method. Two different methods of investigation have been employed. On the one hand, previous reports on the method have been analysed, and, on the other hand, two focus groups interviews, one consisting of case managers´ working with the method, and one constituted by their supervisors have been carried out.The results have been analysed in accordance with, on the one hand, the theory of street level bureaucrats and, on the other hand, certain concepts applied in the new institutionalism.

The European Water Framework Directive (WFD; 2000/60/EC) was incorporated into the Swedish legislation in 2004 through the ordinance Förordningen om förvaltningenav kvaliteten på vattenmiljön (SFS 2004:660). The objective is that all water bodies shall reach a good status by the year 2015. In Sweden the comprehensive plans of the municipalities can play a large role in reaching these goals. A comprehensive plan deals with the long term water and land use of the municipality, which can facilitate an early consideration of water management in the planning process of the municipality. In Sweden five river basin districts have been established in accordance with the Water Framework Directive.

Arbetet undersökte vad manliga och kvinnliga spelare föredrar hos en kvinnlig hjälte i ett actionspel. Inledningsvis diskuterades en rad tidigare studier kring genus i spel och annan visuell media. Därefter redogörs begreppen fysionomi och stereotyp för att få en förståelse för hur man kan dra slutsatser kring en karaktär från så lite information som en konceptbild. Därefter redogörs kända kvinnliga fiktiva hjältar från det senaste århundradet från film, spel och annan visuell media.Artefakten som skapades var fyra olika karaktärskoncept av olika kvinnliga hjältar som var baserade på en förundersökning. Förundersökningen bestod av en karaktärsstudie och en kvantitativ enkätundersökning.

Aquatic organisms are usually not exposed to single substances but rather to mixtures of toxicants in streams located in agricultural areas. The transport of pesticides used in the agricultural area in Sweden is monitored with continuous environmental supervision every year. During 2002-2008 an average of 10 pesticides were found in each sample and 40% of the samples contained substances with concentrations higher than the Water Quality Standards. Chemical risk management is normally based on single-test evaluations. A problem when assessing mixture toxicities is that the constituents and concentrations of pollutants in the environment vary greatly.

Abstract The aim of this essay has been to deepen the knowledge of how professional social workers, therapists and almoners experience working with children who have psychical disturbed parents. By interviews we have examined the experiences of people who, through their work, comes in contact with children whose parents suffer from psychical disturbance. In our interviews we have concentrated on specific themes, such as working with these children, the situation these children are in, parenthood and cooperation with other actors in the field of action. Literature has earlier shown that children with psychical disturbed parents have been difficult to discover. This was confirmed in our study.

Uppsatsen behandlar hur en läsares genrekunskap påverkar dennes tolkning av en serie. Som projektarbete har jag producerat en kortare episod på fyra sidor, ur en längre serie som jag själv skapat, inom genrerna science-fiction och action. I bakgrunden går jag igenom Scott McClouds syn på serier, Bordwell och Thompssons syn på genrer, samt viss bakgrund och förutsättningar för min series mytologi, berättande och estetiska uttryck.Jag har genomfört en kvalitativ studie där jag låtit fokusgrupper med olika förutsättningar vad gäller förkunskaper och bakgrundsinformation läsa och diskutera serien.För att skapa serie-episoden har jag studerat andra seriers layout, tecknarstil och berättande. Serien bygger på ett tydligt symbolspråk med förankring i verkligheten.De slutsatser jag kunnat dra av undersökningen är att mycket bakgrundsinformation hämmar nyfikenhet och spekulationsvilja och att en hög kunnighet kring de berörda genrerna leder till en modernare syn på könsroller..

This thesis aims to study whether the Swedish corporate law is in need of additional rules regarding the composition of the board of directors from a gender equality point of view. Sweden is internationally a state that is far ahead when it comes to creating equal opportunities for all its citizens. The Swedish labour market consist of men and women to an equal degree, although this is a phenomena that is not reflected on the leading positions in the larger limited corporations listed on the stock exchange. This is a trend that definitely needs to be attended to, since women can provide crucial knowledge that is important not only to the individual corporation but also to the society as a whole. This is strengthened by the fact that demographic differences in boards stimulates creative solutions and well reasoned suggestions.The opponents to legal measures regarding affirmative action base their arguments on the fact that the shareholders right of ownership is limited as a result of such measures and also that rules regarding self-regulation through corporate governance is preferable.

The aim of this study was to get a greater comprehension of social welfare secretaries? notion of "good parenting" and furthermore how this is expressed in evaluations of investigations regarding care of children. The empirics in this qualitative study were collected with the help of a vignette containing relevant questions. Moreover interview questions were answered at seven occasions. The interviewees were social welfare secretaries that worked with evaluations of care of children.

Syftet med mitt examensarbete var att utveckla en hemsida till Kulas Ponnystuteri. Den skulle innehålla vissa informationstexter, nyheter, gästbok m.m. samt administrationsfunktioner.Hemsidan skulle vara lätt att använda och hitta önskad information på. Den vänder sig till mer eller mindre hästkunniga människor i alla åldrar, och skulle därför göras mycket besöksvänlig.En hemsida konstruerades utifrån de önskemål och krav som kunden hade. För själva kodningen användes HTML och ASP med Java Script och arbetet skedde i både Frontpage och Dreamweaver.

This essay shows how administrators in two different organizations are experiencing freedom of action in their work situation. The essay is made based on a qualitative method and interviews were used to implement the study. People chosen for this study are four administrators at a governmentagency - the Social Insurance agency, and four municipal officers from different Social service offices in southern Sweden. The theoretical framework consists of Weber's theory of bureaucracy, and his discussion of the legal authority. The analysis is designed as adiscussion of the parts that were especially prominent during the interviews.

I undersökningen används animationsprincipen Follow Through and Overlapping Action för att undersöka om den verkar kontraproduktivt till att förmedla känslorna sorg och glädje. Follow Through and Overlapping Action handlar om att rörelser inte börjar eller slutar samtidigt. Glädje är en positiv känsla medan sorg är negativ. Artefakterna som skapas är sex animationsklipp där tre representerar glädje och de andra företräder sorg.

The Center for Genomics and Bioinformatics (CGB) is an academic department at Karolinska Institute. Generally stated, the CGB department is committed to the generation and management of genetic information by approaches aiming at elucidating the connection between genes, protein and function.WiGID is a genome information database that is available through WAP (Wireless Application Protocol).Our version of WiGID is based on WML, PHP and PostgreSQL as a database server.One of the changes on the old WiGID application was the creation of a relational database with seven tables and one view, instead of the file that represented the database on the old version. We also changed the script language from python to PHP.The search engine ability has been extended with three new search alternatives for a user to choose from. Each choice leads to other, sometimes multiple choices.A GUI has been created for the administrator, to be able to insert information into the database.The structure of the search engine is primarily for narrowing down the search result on the phone display, thereby making the search efficient..

Att implementera scriptmotorer i Windows-applikationer öppnar upp många intressanta möjligheter, varav en av dessa är att göra kundanpassningar till ett system utan att kompilera om källkoden. Några problemställningar som skall utvärderas är hur det kan implementeras en scriptmotor till ett affärssystem och vad finns det för färdiga scriptmotorer och scriptspråk som kan användas, och hur det på ett lämpligt sätt kan skapas anropspunkter till script så som händelser, knappar och menypunkter. I denna uppsats ges ett förslag på en möjlighet att anpassa ett affärssystem under dess exekvering genom att integrera en scriptmotor till systemet. Denna teknik kommer att tillåta olika kunder att själva anpassa ett system efter deras egna behov, men dock inom ett visst ramverk. Syftet med detta är att öppna upp möjligheten att skapa egna anpassningar av systemet på ett snabbt och ekonomiskt tillvägagångssätt..

Under den diffusa delen av ett projekt i interaktionsdeign fattas beslut om vad som ska skapas. För att strukturera denna process rekommenderar Arvola (2013) ett ramverk för beskrivning av medierad handling. Utöver ett antal informella intervjuer med personer som använt ramverket har inga undersökningar genomförts vars resultat beskriver hur ramverket används i praktiken. Studier som visar hur ramverket bör användas för att ett användbart resultat ska genereras har inte heller gjorts, förrän nu. Genom att under två workshops studera interaktionsdesigners generera designkoncept med stöd av ramverket för medierad handling, har fyra kännetecknande aspekter av hur ett bra designkoncept kan skapas med stöd av ramverket identifierats.
