The purpose of this thesis is to examine how investments are justified in the Swedish data center industry, with a focus on cooling equipment. This is achieved through semi-structured interviews with 20 different interviewees. These interviewees represent different facets of the industry and facilitate an understanding of which factors, such as: investment costs, operating costs, reliability, environmental impact and the influence of external and internal actors, come into play and to which degree they impact the investment decision-making process. The results show that primarily low operating cost in the form of low energy consumption is the driving factor when it comes to the procurement of new equipment. A lower environmental impact is a positive side-effect of lower energy consumption.

This report presents suggestions and recommendations on how to convert an old industrial building, built in 1958, to an office hotel. One of the main criteria was that the floor plan should be flexible. The building is situated at Jonsereds Fabriker and the study was conducted for Hantverkslokaler i Göteborg AB, the estate owner.The survey is initiated with study visits at various office hotels, together with studies of literature regarding office planning. One conclusion from the study visits is that meeting-places, where the different companies can meet and exchange ideas and services, are important. Another one, and probably the most important parameter when planning offices is that they should have windows.

All small- and medium-sized family owned enterprises need to sooner or later undergo a change of ownership. When the elder generation is approaching their retirement they have to make a choice; either hand over the business to the younger generation or sell it to an outsider. The succession of the family owned business can create a life long dilemma for the entrepreneur. From the view of taxation there are, according to current legislation, no reasons to plan the succession to the younger generation. If no preparation has been done, the optional law system concerning inheritance will divide the property left.

The forestry companies? operational planning process is these days dependent on reliable, efficient and user-friendly computer-based support systems. This study is an evaluation of Holmen Skog's current computer-based systems. The aim of this study is to: ? investigate the work pattern of the production managers when using the information system to plan the harvesting operation; ? investigate the efficiency and user friendliness of the information system with the different work patterns and to find the strengths, weaknesses and bottlenecks in the current system; ? find out if the type of object, the volume, the area of the harvesting object affects the time and work pattern; ? examine how this type of study is met by the employees and what factors that is critical to avoid feelings of intrusion. The conclusions of the study were: ? there is a large variation between the work patterns of the production managers and the time spend to perform the operational planning; ? the mainframe computer system used by Holmen Skog is clear, has short response times, is robust and conveys relevant information; ? the computer systems are however divided in many subsystems.

Bakgrunden till denna uppsats grundas i ett egenintresse i förvandlingen av stationshuset i Vara. Sedan jag genom mina föräldrar som bor kvar i orten, på tidig vår 2010 fick reda på att huset skulle bli korallrött har detta numer blåa konstverk retat mig. Detta kandidatarbete har gett mig möjligheten att på ett vetenskaplig sätt utröna bakomliggande orsaker till stationshusets förvandling till det Vara kallar, Sveriges största konstverk. Syftet med denna uppsats är att utreda hur den estetiskt tilltalande utformningen av byggnader vilka klassas som konstverk bör regleras enligt Plan- och Bygglagen och vilken roll kulturell planering spelar i den estetiskt tilltalande utformningen av den offentliga miljön. Genom två olika typer av fallstudier har tre olika konstverksprojekt studerats och analyserats utifrån inventeringar, observationer, intervjuer och innehållsanalys om bland annat begreppen byggnad, estetik och konstverk.

Syftet med denna studie var att ge en djupare inblick i pedagogiska tanketraditioner och med ett musikpedagogiskt kunskapsintresse undersöka vilka intentioner och konventioner som låg till grund för kommunikation av musikaliska kunskaper i historiska manualer. Förord ur fyra manualer från två olika århundraden studerades; en instrumentskola och en musikteoretisk manual från 1500-talet och en instrumentskola och en musikteoretisk manual från 1700-talet. Manualerna var Silvestro Ganassis Opera intitulata Fontegara från 1535, Thomas Morleys A Plaine and Easie Introduction to Practicall Musicke från 1597, Johann Joseph Fux Gradus ad Parnassum från 1725 samt Johann Joachim Quantz Versuch einer Anweisung die Flöte traversiere zu spielen från 1752. Med en kombinerad metod analyserades förorden i tre nivåer för att se hur musikaliska kunskaper kommunicerades dels på ett individuellt plan, dels på ett mer socialt orienterat plan. Studiens teoretiska ansats utgjordes av ett övergripande kulturpsykologiskt perspektiv, vilket gav möjlighet att vetenskapligt belysa relationen mellan individer och traditioner och därmed också förbinda studien med dagens musikpedagogiska praktik.

Syftet med denna uppsats var att utreda vilken inverkan genusstrukturer har på de konstnärliga valen hos en skådespelare samt hur skådespelare talar om genus i förhållande till sitt yrke. Begreppen genus och konstnärliga val behandlas och diskuteras för att klargöra vad som ska läsas in i begreppen vid slutdiskussionen.I det förberedande arbetet har jag gått igenom några genusforskares forskningsarbeten om genusstrukturer. Framför allt har jag valt att framlägga genusforskare som i sina arbeten beskriver genus som performativt och språket och talet som konstituerande för det sociala könet. Skälet till urvalet av forskare är att kunna göra jämförelser med hur språket och talet hos en skådespelare och dess medarbetare formar skådespelarens gestaltningsval, på ett både medvetet och omedvetet plan. Därtill har jag gått igenom Malmö operas jämställdhetsplan för 2013-2015 och HSMs likabehandlingsplan från 2012 och hur policydokument som dessa möter skådespelarnas och studenternas behov av formella och teoretiska jämställdhetsverktyg.Jag har intervjuat fyra skådespelare på Malmö opera och ställt frågor kring genus och olika skeden i repetitionsprocessen.

The study took place at a food corporation in Växjö, Sweden. It describes a building that contains four tanks in which glucose syrup is stored. The purpose of the study was to calculate the amount of heat that leaves the building and the amount of heat that is supplied by the installed heating equipment. Before the calculations could be implemented, all the systems that supply the building with heat had to be examined. With a small amount of information from earlier studies, the work to gather all the data necessary for the calculations began.

The neo-classical conception of the market place does not provide a framework to account for ethical or moral action. As a result, the neo-classical model is unable to explain the impact of ethical and moral issues on business sustainability present in the modern economy. To address this limitation, this thesis investigates whether theories of ethics can help explain the motivations and actions of stakeholders within the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). In addition, the thesis explores whether theories of ethics are presented differently within aspects of the stakeholder model. Semi - structured interviews were conducted with various stakeholders within the CSR sector, including a NGO, a commercial firm and a CSR consultancy firm.

The goal of this qualitative essay is to approach the knowledge of people who commit crimes. From a development psychology point of view, questions relating to childhood ang growth are some of the important subjects we choose to discuss. Our purpose is also to reveal the linkage between criminal behavior and different theories of the above mentioned perspective. To bridge the gap between the general and the individual, our survey was based on profound interviews with four inmates in prison. This offer an opportunity to capture the individual´s inner thoughts, feelings and experience about the criminal action.

The purpose of this study was to find out how the responsible editors on a selection of Swedish newspapers react to a reproach from the Press Ombudsman. The method for this research was eight qualitative interviews with responsible editors on some of Sweden?s biggest newspapers, and also a few local newspapers.We based our results on the interviews and three theories ? media accountability, communicative action and consequence neutrality. We used these theories because we think that, put together they produce the most apt view of how media ethics is being handled in the printed press.We found out that in most cases a reproach doesn?t mean that much to a newspaper.

The purpose of this study is to understand school counselors knowledge and work with cyber bullying among students. Our study is based on the result from eight qualitative semi-structured interviews. These interviews were conducted with school counselors working at elementary and high school in the state of Kronoberg, Sweden. Our theoretical base is human services organizations, street level bureaucrats and acting space. Our study shows that school counselors have adopted cyber bullying in various ways which has an impact on their knowledge and systematical work regarding this question.

In the collections of the Vasa Museum, 100 leather objects have exhibited salt precipitations. The objects, that have previously been impregnated with PEG, have become deteriorated and fragmented due to the precipitations. During a previously conducted study it was established that the precipitations consisted of iron and sulphur. However, it was not established whether they occurred in the leather?s inner structure and no treatment plan was developed.

This is a study in my preparations for my final concert at the Academy of Music and Drama- ?????????? University. My aim is to create a plan and a schedule for my practising methods and other preparations so I will be able to perform at the top of my ability.I have studied and chosen a collection of methods that will help me prepare for my concert and at the same time develop my oboe playing. As a result, I have found an effective way for me to prepare technically on my instrument. I have also learnt and developed methods in how to focus and mentally prepare for a performance..

Skolorna är enligt lag skyldiga att utforma planer mot diskriminering och kränkande behandling, enskilt eller i sammanhängande form. Diskrimineringslagen och skollagen ställer olika krav på vilket innehåll respektive plan ska ha, men samtidigt rekommenderar Skolverket att skolorna utformar en sammanhängande plan för detta arbete. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur två skolor har utformat sina planer och jämföra om det finns avvikelser mellan planerna på skolorna och styrdokumenten från lagstiftarna och myndigheterna. Frågorna som ställs är: Vad står det i styrdokumenten[1] om hur utformningen och innehållet i en likabehandlingsplan ska se ut? Hur utformar och arbetar de två undersökta skolorna med LBP utifrån de krav som styrdokumenten föreskriver? Metoden som används i undersökningen är en komparativ, kvalitativ textanalys.
