SUMMARYFor thousands of years horses have been at people's side. They have been used for transportation at war, to save time, manpower and money. For practical reason, man has forced the horses into narrow spaces. Stabling includes factors as feeding and bedding. In the boxes the bedding materials must be kept clean and maintain good hygiene.

With the climate change issues growing in importance on the social agenda, the field of urban masterplanning is of no exception when it comes to minimizing the carbon footprint in a variety of projects. The aim of this thesis has been to prepare the Carbon Critical Masterplanning tool, a software plugin for carbon dioxide emissions assessment developed by Atkins, to be used in Swedish conditions. The main targets were to improve the areas of the tool associated with energy conversion and renewable energy sources, and to test the tool in a real case. A planned construction of a new campus in Albano, Stockholm was chosen for the pilot study. A 3D model was built in the tool and the carbon footprint was calculated for a variety of combinations for energy supply to the future area.

Interest in alternative energies is high in Sweden today, particularly in the agricultural sector. According to the Swedish lantbruksbarometern (2009), almost all respondents consider the use of some form of alternative energy from the farm. While interest in alternative energies is large, attention to the alternative energy straw has fallen and is almost nowhere mentioned in the literature today. Three years ago, in the Lantbruksbarometern nearly 44% of the farmers would be willing to invest in straw as heating system on the farm. How do the farmers decide to invest in alternative energies? With this information a problem is presented for this paper.

Osteokondros är en vanlig multifaktoriell sjukdom hos stora och snabbt växande hundraser och kan drabba flera leder så som exempelvis armbågs- och bogleder. En lokal störning i den endokondrala benbildningen i epifysen eller metafysens tillväxtbrosk leder till ojämnheter i brosket, som i sin tur orsakar smärta och hälta. Osteokondros påverkar hundens välfärd såväl som människans användning av hunden. Kunskap om sjukdomsförloppet och faktorer som påverkar sjukdomsutveckling krävs för att förhindra uppkomst av osteokondros. Den här litteraturgenomgången syftar till att klargöra huruvida utfodring påverkar utvecklingen av osteokondros hos hund och i så fall på vilket sätt. Litteraturstudien har avgränsats till betydelsen av överutfodring med energi och protein samt över- eller underutfodring med kalcium och fosfor. För att en normal ledyta ska bildas krävs ett intrikat samspel mellan mekanismerna för skelettillväxt, endokondral benbildning samt benremodulering.

The analysis has included the energy consumption for cultivation of grain, production of chemicals, the production chain for wood chips, the steam production and the ethanol plant. The grain and wood chips are both considered raw materials there for the energy content in these are not included as energy input in the system.

Syftet med detta arbete har varit att utforska hur man kan gestalta en växtvägg och hur man med hjälp av växterna kan uppnå olika uttryck. Målet har varit att förstå hur växter beter sig i en växtvägg och hur de kan kombineras. Vilka växtstrategier som är lämpliga för växtmaterial på en växtvägg samt hur olika växter kan kombineras för att uppnå önskat visuellt uttryck är frågeställningar som behandlas i rapporten. Faktainsamling kring gestaltning av växtväggar har gjorts genom en litteraturstudie och praktiskt arbete i form av konstruktion av en prototyp. En intervju har också genomförts. Erfarenheterna från detta har använts för att ta fram ett gestaltningsförslag. Den vanligaste princip som används för att konstruera en växtvägg är med ett filtmaterial i syntet som häftas fast på en plywoodskiva med kanalplast bakom, man använder en pump och droppslangar som styrs med en timer.

AbstractDelta Terminal owns an outdated industrial building which they now rent out to businesses. This property currently has a high energy con-sumption and therfore it is desirable to improve the efficiency. In ordet to reduce the energy consumption within the industrial building enve-lope, the heating systems and lighting are being investegated. A good building envelope emits less heat and thus reduces the energy consump-tion. An energy audit is a tool used to determine the energy loss.

The results show that use of locally installed renewable energy sources can reduce the total climate impact when life cycle perspective is applied.

Värmeböljorna blir allt vanligare i Sverige vilket kommer kosta sjukvården miljardbelopp. Hur kan denna trend motverkas? Träd kanske inte är hela lösningen på problemet, men är en hjälp på vägen. Det urbana landskapet har idag högre temperatur än omgivande landsbygd. Detta fenomen, den så kallade urbana värmeö-effekten, beror bland annat på att hårdgjorda ytor absorberar solenergi, antropogena källor utsöndrar värme, luftföroreningar fungerar som växthusgaser och bristen av nerkylande vegetation. Dessa faktorer bidrar till en ohållbar temperaturstigning. Kandidatarbetets mål har varit att ta reda på hur träd bidrar till en temperatursänkning inne i städerna och att identifiera urvalskriterier för att välja träd ur temperatursynpunkt som samtidigt fungerar i urbana miljöer.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att undersöka klämkraftens betydelse för ensilagekvalitetenför rundbalar. Därför gjordes ett försök på Svalövs Naturbruksgymnasium i maj 2008. Vårstudie var en del i ett större försök med fler olika led. Vårt försök bestod av 4 olika led: 25 ?mplast med 100 bars klämtryck, 25 ?m plast med 140 bars klämtryck, 19 ?m plast med 100bars klämtryck och 19 ?m plast med 140 bars klämtryck.

AssiDomän tillverkar kartong till förpackningsindustrin. Inom detta område är vitheten på kartongytanen viktig parameter. För att höja intrycket av förpackningen samt skapa en skyddande yta lackas ofta förpackningen med UV-lack efter tryck. Efter lackning kan då otryckta lackade ytor uppfattas som mindre vita. För att ta reda på om bestrykningssammansättningen har betydelse har ett fem olika bestrykningar blandats.

The main purpose of this master thesis is to identify the issues concerning the transformation process of a product oriented company into a service oriented company, and how these issues can be overcome. We will exemplify this by developing a dewatering pump rental concept for ABS, and identify the drivers and barriers for ABS when implementing the service oriented rental concept in Sweden and Poland. This master thesis is based on the systems perspective. The reason for this is the required holistic perspective, where the system has to be regarded from different points of departure in order to be understood. The theoretical studies include services and change management.

Denna litteraturstudie behandlar förgiftningar hos hund med begränsning till förgiftning orsakat av etylenglykol och råttgift. Vilket av dessa ämnen som är farligast och hur stor risken är att en hund får i sig dem är två frågor som kommer att undersökas. Det kommer att tas reda på mer om hur det ligger till med etylenglykolets påstått söta smak. Syftet med studien är även att utreda om allmänhetens medvetenhet behöver ökas om vanliga potentiellt farliga ämnen för våra husdjur. Att hundar utsätts för förgiftningar är inte ovanligt och antalet försäkringsfall där hundar blivit förgiftade har ökat mellan 2010 och 2014. Om en hund utsätts för ett giftigt ämne är det mest optimala att så tidigt som möjligt hindra giftet från att absorberas från gastrointestinalkanalen och därmed hindra att det gör någon skada.
