VAV (Variable Air Volume) system has been studied in a newly constructed office-building. The goal for the study has been to evaluate how the ventilations system work in practice, if adjustments can be made to achieve an more energy efficient system and to evaluate if other alternative ventilation systems is to be preferred in the further.The degree project has been executed at Helenius Engineering Firm who is working with the environment, media systems, HVAC and energy in buildings. The building that has been studied is owned and operated by Akademiska hus.Literature studies, visits at site, inventory, review of system documentation, energy analyses, interviews, key figures, LCC, sand energy- and indoor climate simulations has been made to study the building. Where appropriate some tools from Six Sigma have also been used.How to achieve an energy efficient system and a pleasant indoor climate is studied with human health and well-being as base for the indoor climate requirements. Technical support systems such as ventilation systems have to be designed so that an acceptable indoor climate can be achieved.

Occupational Health Service (OHS) has an important role in society. It is designed to prevent illness and strengthen the health of workers. OHS operations and development are currently being studied at the School of Technology and Health at the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. One of the industries studied is the home maker service. During the 2010s were such employees one of the most ill groups in Sweden.This master's thesis in occupational environment development and change management focus on examining the special knowledge an OHS and its clients in one home maker service need to strengthen the workers of the industry and find out how the interaction between OHS and home maker service works and how it could be evolved.A qualitative study was conducted in a Swedish city on the basis of an organizational perspective.

The aim with my research is to illuminate the meaning of IKEAs settle in Haparanda, for the region Haparanda-Tornio, its economic growth and its inhabitants. The research has been carried out only through qualitative methods. Some interviews with a range of people from varying companies have been conducted.Haparanda is a smaller Swedish city situated in the north, on the border to Finland and to a city called Tornio. These two cities, Haparanda and Tornio, has realised they are stronger in pairs, so they initiated cooperation across the border. Haparanda-Tornio is not a region of historically welfare and well-being.

Bakgrund: Fysisk aktivitet är något i princip alla människor behöver för att må bra fysiskt och mentalt. Några som är i extra stort behov av fysisk aktivitet är personer med psykisk ohälsa då de ofta också drabbas fysisk ohälsa. Bland annat beroende på att passivitet kan vara ett symtom och att en del psykofarmaka ger metabola störningar.  Syfte: Syftet var att belysa upplevelser av motion hos personer med psykisk ohälsa samt faktorer som kan vara motiverande.  Metod: En litteratursökning har genomförts för att skapa en översikt över vetenskapliga artiklar om   motiverande faktorer och upplevelser av fysisk aktivitet hos personer med psykisk ohälsa. Studien baseras på åtta kvalitativa artiklar som granskats och analyserats med influens av Willman & Stoltz (2012) samt Friberg (2012). Det vetenskapliga underlaget  är hämtat från Cinahl, psycinfo samt Pubmed och artiklarna är publicerade mellan 2000-2013.  Resultat: Dataanalysen gav tre huvudteman.

The need for snow-free surfaces at squares, bus stops, platforms, car parks and sports facilities increases and at the same time energy price rise and the environment is becoming a hotter issue. The construction of the ground heating systems often lack thermal insulation under the heating pipes, which means that the heat from the pipes not only warm up the soil surface but also heats the surrounding soil. The insulation also has more features, by insulating the risk of frost damage is minimized. The goal of this report is to demonstrate the large heat loss and energy costs in the absence of insulation under the heating system.The report begins with a scientific way to study and treating the soil heating system uses, and the theory involved. Furthermore it also deals with different routing principles of heat pipes depending on the facility.All calculations are made with so called finite element method (FEM), in COMSOL Multiphysics 3,5a, where models are created with different conditions.

The Swedish social insurance agency provides financial support for families and children, but also for people with work injury, illness and at old age. During 2012 they saw the amount of notifications of insurance increasing in Sweden, which is a development that cost our society a great deal of money. With the aim to pursue a sustainable development I have therefore devoted this project to wellness and stress management within preschool.The employees of preschool are often dealing with a lot of stress, due to the big groups of children that causes high noise and sound levels. The high noise and sound levels is a contributor to stress which additionally can damage the health and cause impaired hearing loss. About half of the people around their forties until the age of retirement have difficulties understanding speech in large groups.The purpose of this project has been to investigate the causes of negative stress for my target group, women between 30-60 years old who works in preschool.

The demand for animal products has increased in the last decades, especially for poultry and pork. Pork production has increased drastically globally, and also in Uganda. Thirty-one percent of Uganda´s population lives in poverty. Pig production is believed to play a crucial role in poverty alleviation, because of the ability to convert low quality feed into high quality protein together with high reproductive potential. African swine fever (ASF) is a lethal disease of domestic pigs often characterized by haemorrhagic fever and with mortality rates up to 100%. The disease is endemic in most sub-Saharan countries and since 2007 in the Russian Federation and Caucasus area.

Bakgrund Individer med psykiska sjukdomar är ett vanligt förekommande patientklientel på somatiska vårdavdelningar. Att vårda dessa individer kräver ofta mycket arbete och fokus från allmänsjuksköterskan. Syftet var att belysa vad som kan ligga till grund för sjuksköterskors attityder till vårdandet av patienter med psykiska sjukdomar i somatiska vårdmiljöer. Metod Studien genomfördes som en litteraturstudie, på ett systematiskt vis, baserad på data från tolv vetenskapliga studier. Vetenskaplig litteratur inom området söktes upp, granskades, analyserades och sammanställdes. Resultat Sjuksköterskans attityder visade sig främst vara kopplade till dennes vård- och arbetsmiljö, sjuksköterskeutbildningen och den tillgång till stöd som sjuksköterskan upplevde samt hennes tidigare erfarenheter.  Resultatet presenteras utifrån tre kategorier: Vårdmiljöns betydelse för sjuksköterskans attityder, Utbildningens och kunskapens betydelse för sjuksköterskans attityder samt Erfarenhetens betydelse för sjuksköterskans attityder. Diskussion De mest centrala fynden diskuteras utifrån resultatets tre kategorier. Om sjuksköterskeutbildningar utökade kursutbudet inom psykiatrisk omvårdnad och om möjlighet till bättre stöd och kontinuerlig utbildning, blev tillgänglig för personal på somatiska vårdavdelningar, skulle detta förmodligen förändra den negativa inställning som många sjuksköterskor har till vårdandet av psykiskt sjuka patienter. Det skulle också skapas bättre förutsättningar för sjuksköterskor att kunna bistå med en bättre vård.

Stereotypic pacing is frequently observed in captive carnivores, however the underlying causes of this behaviour remain somewhat unclear. One of these possible causes are unpredictable feeding signals, which may give rise to frustration and subsequent pacing. Animal keepers at Nordens Ark had noticed that their Amur leopards had shown stereotypic pacing in connection to the passing of ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles) used by animal keepers primarly when feeding the animals in the park. The aim of this study was to investigate whether the stereotypic pacing of the two Amur leopards at Nordens Ark were affected by the introduction of a signal associated with feeding. The leopards were trained by classical conditioning to associate the sound of a siren with the delivery of food by an animal keeper.

Researchshows how theworking conditions andworking hours affect professional drivers´ lifestyle and there is a negative impact on their health.

Discharge of untreated wastewater leads to unnaturally high levels of nitrogen and phosphorus in rivers, lakes and the sea, which results in unbalanced ecosystems with eutrophication and lack of oxygen. Part of the phosphorus in surface waters is coming from on-site wastewater treatment from scattered households with unsatisfactory purification. Blast furnace slag is a by-product from iron production, and has in laboratory trials showed good phosphorus binding capacity. To test blast furnace slag as a reactive filter media for phosphorus separation in a full scale experiment, a wastewater treatment plant has been built behind the picnic area at Ångersjön alongside the road E4 in central-eastern Sweden. The plant contains two parallel lines, one with blast furnaces slag and the other with Filtralite-P as phosphorus sorbent. Both filters have showed decreasing phosphorus purification effect with time in spite of a low wastewater load.

Vårdandet är så tidskrävande och omfattande att det innebär stor påfrestning för föräldrarna. Den kontinuerliga kontakten föräldrarna måste ha med sjukvården gör sjuksköterskan betydelsefull. I sjuksköterskans kompetensbeskrivning ingår en stödjande roll till anhöriga.Syfte: Syftet var att belysa föräldrars upplevelse av att vårda sitt allvarligt sjuka barn.Metod: En litteraturöversikt enligt Fribergs (2012) metod gjordes. Översikten är baserad på tolv vetenskapliga artiklar hämtade ur databaserna CINAHL och PubMed.

 Title: School nurse work with mental health problems among studentsBackground: A good mental health and psychosocial wellbeing is considered to be an important aspect of how students can cope with everyday challenges. In order to experience psychosocial wellbeing well working interpersonal relations and a belief in the future is important. School is an important aspect of the student?s early years in life and therefore it is vital that school health services become important part of the childhood. The school nurse is an important part of student health and he or she is responsible for vaccinations and health check-ups.

ABSTRACT Background: Health and ill-health are multifaceted concepts. Previous research has shown that physical activity and the level of cardio respiratory are important parts of leading a healthy lifestyle. Possibly, it?s so important that the Occupational Health Service should focus even more on this.Aim: The aim was to investigate if there was a relationship between the level of cardio respiratory fitness and self-rated health, and between the level of cardio respiratory fitness and physical and mental ill-health.Method: The study was conducted using a quantitative method in the form of a cross sectional study. Data was collected from an Occupational Health Service, containing answers to a questionnaire on work environment and health and test values ??from completed cycle fitness tests.

Bakgrund: Historiskt har personer med psykisk ohälsa setts som annorlunda och varit utstötta av samhället. Dagens samhälle porträtterar ofta personer med psykisk ohälsa som galna och farliga. Psykisk ohälsa är idag vanligt förekommande, och för att kunna ge högkvalitativ vård måste en holistisk syn vara grundläggande.Syfte: Syftet är att belysa vårdpersonalens erfarenheter i mötet med patienter med psykiska ohälsa inom den somatiska vården.Metod: En litteraturstudie baserad på åtta vetenskapliga artiklar har gjorts, varav sex artiklar är kvantitativa och två kvalitativa. Vikt lades på att belysa vårdpersonalens erfarenheter i mötet med patienter med psykisk ohälsa. Teoretisk förankring har skett till Katie Erikssons teori om vårdande.Resultat: Resultatet visar att det förekommer negativa attityder gentemot dessa patienter inom den somatiska vården.
