Personliga beslut om sparande drivs av många olika motiv, några är, behovet av att bygga upp tillgångar för att finansiera konsumtion under den senare delen av livet, osäkerhet om framtiden och att spara åt nästa generation. Sparandet för konsumtion under pensionsåren är generellt ansett som det viktigaste motivet till att spara. En faktor som ger ett ökat intresse för att studera sparande ärden åldrande befolkningen i de rika delarna av världen. Medelåldern i Europa stiger och befolkningen blir äldre och lever längre.Resultaten visade att inflationen var den variabel som har störst påverkan på sparkvoten. Inte långt efter kom variablerna arbetslöshet, inkomsttillväxt och handelsbalans.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to present an overview of the Swedish listed companies and their compliance with the Code and its normative rules for independent decision-making. Methodology: The authors have read and delved into the Swedish Code of Corporate Governance. The authors have chosen to study the enforcement of the code based on independent bracing guidelines. The study was conducted through a combined quantitative and qualitative approach. The study is based on primary data collected in the form of companies' corporate governance reports, which have been supplemented by structured interviews.Frame of reference: Swedish ownership structure and concentrated ownership, self regulation and normative guidelines, institutional theory and earlier research on this topic.Empirical foundations: A comparison of the selected companies has been based on the independence rules of the Swedish Code of Corporate Governance. A specific company has been presented with the company's application of the code, interviews have also been done with this company to increase the understanding of the empirical basis further.Conclusions: There are several flaws with the code and how it is applied today.

It is becoming increasingly important for companies to meet customer demands due to intense competition in today's global market, that forcing companies to improve their offerings and become better at managing their supply chain (Shen et al., 2006).  Long lead times can be reduced by using different methods and strategies shows various researches. Lead times occur in the planning, production, inventories and handling of products (Treville et al., 2003).The aim of the study is to develop a method to analyze the factors that affect the length of internal delivery lead time in manufacturing companies. The method also included suggestions for reducing delivery lead-time to internal customers.The main factors that influenced the length of the on delivery lead times has summarized to make a selection among the factors that can have the most significant impact. The selected elements will be used as a method to analyze how these areas affect a company?s length on internal delivery lead times.The study shows that the causes of the long delivery lead times was the location of the customer order point, uncertain forecasts, long material and production planning time, and long waits in the production and storage.The delivery lead time, according to this report?s suggested improvements reduced by centralizing CODP and makes more reliable forecasts.

Digitizing objects and environments from real world has become an important part of creating realistic computer graphics. Through the use of structured lighting and laser time-of-flight measurements the capturing of geometric models is now a common process. The result are visualizations where viewers gain new possibilities for both visual and intellectual experiences. This thesis presents the reconstruction of the Parthenon temple and its environment in Athens, Greece by using a 3D laser-scanning technique. In order to reconstruct a realistic model using 3D scanning techniques there are various phases in which the acquired datasets have to be processed.

The purpose of this BA-thesis is to examine how many girls, boys, women and men who appear in children?s programmes in the years 1978, 1992 and 2007. We have also studied if they are described as typical gender role stereotypes and we have looked at the power conditions between girls and boys, women and men and children and adults. From the results we then examined the changes through out the years. We have made this possible by choosing two days each year when most children were watching the programmes.With the gender role theory we have brought up the important issue of the fact that men appear more frequently in media then women and by doing so the media preserve men as the standard gender.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur olika yrkeskategorier inom äldreomsorgen arbetar med HBTQ-frågor. Studien baseras på kvalitativa intervjuer och inkluderar fem informanter med olika arbetsuppgifter inom äldreomsorgen. Resultaten från intervjuerna har analyserats utifrån olika teman i en intervjuguide, med hjälp av queerteorin. Intervjuernas resultat visar att HBTQ-frågor inte blir belysta som enskilda frågor, men skulle vid behov kunna diskuteras under mångfalds- och jämlikhetsfrågor. Informanterna beskrev vikten av ett gott bemötande, oavsett vilken läggning brukaren hade.

Syftet med denna rapport har varit att undersöka om det föreligger några skillnader mellan 5-åriga och 8-åriga barns sätt att minnas detaljer, antingen med hjälp av mentala bilder eller rent verbalt. Som metod användes kognitiv intervjuteknik (KI) och ostrukturerad intervjuteknik (OI). Barnen fick tillsammans se två korta sketcher från en film med Herr Gunnar Papphammar. Femton minuter senare intervjuades barnen antingen med den kognitiva intervjutekniken eller med den ostrukturerade. Resultatet visade endast en signifikant skillnad när det gäller barnens ålder och hågkomna detaljer.

Västerås är en stad som tidigare har förknippats med gurkor och industrier då ASEA, nuvarande ABB etablerades i Västerås 1883. Staden är idag relativt okänd för externa gäster, det är något som Västerås marknadsföringsorgan Västerås & Co vill ändra på. Arbetets syfte är att undersöka vad en värdskapssatsning kan ge för effekter på turismen och näringslivet i Västerås samt undersöka möjligheten att värdskapscertifiera de olika verksamheterna i Västerås. Litteraturstudier, intervjuer samt deltagande observationer har använts som metod. Teoriavsnittet tar upp värdskapsbegreppet samt samarbeten inom organisationen för att sedan kunna jämföras med resultatet från intervjuerna och de deltagande observationerna.

Denna rapport är ett examensarbete av mig, Per Johansson, och beskriver det företag och den arbetsplats som jag tillbringat min verksamhetsförlagda utbildning (VFU) på. I examensarbetet ingår det att ta upp ett problem och presentera en eventuell lösning på problemet.Jag hittade inte något specifikt prroblem att skriva om på den arbetsplats jag varit på utan jag har försökt att beskriva vad vissa personer inom arbetsledning på bygg och anläggningsföretag ofta upplever som ett problem angående hur projekteringen fungerar. Efter att jag intervjuat ett antal personer på flera olika företag så visade det sig att de flesta tycker att det saknas praktisk kompetens i vissa projekt när man projekterar. Det leder till att de både kan vara svårt att utföra projekten ur ett arbetsmiljöperspektiv och även rent byggtekniskt. Detta är olika beroende vad det rör sig om för typ av projekt.

Den dominerande implementationen av POSIX Threads-standarden för Linux har länge varit LinuxThreads. Detta trådbibliotek har på senare tid kritiserats för att leverera bland annat bristfällig effektivitet, skalbarhet och följsamhet till POSIX-standarden. Två nya projekt, Next Generation POSIX Threads (IBM, Intel) och Native POSIX Threads Library (Red Hat) siktar på att erbjuda bättre alternativ till LinuxThreads.Denna undersökning jämför effektiviteten för dessa tre trådbibliotek, i synnerhet i samband med växling, skapande och synkronisering av trådar samt skalbarhet, huvudsakligen genom användandet av ett testprogram från Sun Microsystems.Resultaten visar att NGPT skalar linjärt och är det klart effektivaste trådbiblioteket över 4600 trådar. NPTL är effektivast under 4600 trådar fast dess exponentiella kurva medför sämre resultat vid ett högre antal trådar. LinuxThreads skalade sämst och fick sämst resultat över 1200 trådar och resultaten visade även högst varians.

The objective of this thesis was to present a design proposal on a modular mechanicalstructure for a nanosatellite. The size of the structure should follow the CubeSatstandards. This standard divides satellites in units (U), where 1U is equivalent to acube where sides measure 100 mm. 2U corresponds to the same volume and size as2 assembled 1U structures, and so on. The focus was to develop a structure in theorder of 3U and 6U.At the integration in the satellite launch rocket, there are a couple of differentinterfaces, where the structure is adapted to common ones; P-POD and CSD.

Proliferative enteropathy is a group of disease conditions in pigs where the disease may vary from subclinical to critical with bloody loose feces. The etiological agent is the obligate intracellular bacteria Lawsonia intracellularis. L. intracellularis infects enterocytes from jejunum to colon. The bacteria is taken into cells and start to replicate and cause a massive proliferation of immature enterocytes.

Being a trustee within the disability care will, in most cases, put big responsibility on the trustee both as a representative for the klient but also as a representative for the standards of the society. The assignment as a trustee is to strengthen the client and ease his/her way of living in the society. The Swedish legislation that controls the process and the regulation of the trustees, is by the authors of this paper preceived as kind of vauge, leaving a lot of room for interpretation. So  how do trustees comprehend their assignment and how do they actually interpret it? Using material from eight interviews with trustees within the disability care, this paper aims to examine these questions, and focuses only on the trustees and their experiences.

According to the Employment Protection Act, the permanent employment is the main condition of employment in Sweden. Nevertheless, nowadays a large number of employers choose to apply other conditions of employment than the permanent employment in their businesses. The rapid technical development and the demands for shorter perspective investment in companies on the Swedish labour market have started the requirement for a more flexible workforce. On-call employment is one of the conditions of employment that is increasing the most. This condition of employment is adjusted by the parties on the labour market.
